The only people mad are Airbnb owners. It’s your job to make sure the Airbnb is nice for your guests. We’re measuring these places against hotels now. Get back to work, bud. You thought this was an easy passive income game? The bank’s taking the house back if you don’t keep guests booking
its just bonkers the new policy @Airbnb is trying to put in place. Putting the dishes in the dishwasher, taking out the trash, pulling the sheets off the bed....they are just standard things any normal person would do when staying at a house. Why wouldn't a host be allowed to say that?

We're getting way too many bangers these days in American politics
Ilhan's family had to flee Africa because her father ran the brutal dictatorship in Somalia as a colonel overseeing outrageous atrocities. They weren't fleeing oppression. They WERE the oppression. She brought those good ol' Mogadishu family values to Minnesota.

owning an airbnb seems like peak landlord hell compared to renting it out on a 1-year lease.
the problem is a lot of these places would never work on a 1-year lease. they were bought during the “make money with airbnb” wave, and the whole model depends on short-term renters covering the mortgage while hopefully leaving leftover take-home profit.
airbnb keeps winning with its ~15% cut either way. if the listing market scales, what does the winner-to-loser ratio look like as more supply floods the platform and competes for the same demand?
how many owners are underwater, barely breaking even, or losing money every year? what % are actually profiting vs. holding on hoping the property goes up in value? and how many are shutting down or getting taken back by the bank?
airbnb prices have also gotten way out of line, quality-wise, compared to hotels. it’s an interesting business model that works in some places, but not everywhere.

German firm Quantum Systems says its battery-powered Apex Recordhunter flew at 777 km/h (483 mph) in a record attempt.
Chief revenue officer Martin Karkour said it covered more than 200 metres a second.
It is not yet official. Records need a return leg to cancel wind, and that ne the same drone hit 699 km/h (434 mph). It uses battery cells from a Porsche subsidiary.
Co-CEO Sven Kruck linked the work to Russia’s jet-powered Geran drones, which he said fly at 500-600 km/h. Lessons feed interceptor development, though the record drone is not a weapon.
Quantum Systems has an order for 15,000 Strila interceptors from Kyiv’s WIY Drones via their joint venture. The company, near Munich, closed a $1.2 billion funding round this year.

This interceptor looks cool and hit 483 MPH
The top speed of an F1 car is around ~211-224 MPH on long straightaways

AI psychosis + cocaine + billions of dollars = she’s mad zooted as Future would say
Lucy Guo on why AI isn't shrinking her workweek: "AI is making people work harder actually, because you have to be awake for your agents to be running."
She pulled a 26-hour day last week because Claude was shipping code and she refused to miss the loop.
