Bitwise counts about 30% fewer Solana validators than a year ago: 659 at the end of Q3, down from 696 at the start of the quarter.
Solana Compass epoch data shows the same fall, 958 to 678 over the year, with the count holding near 677 since early September.

Once plagued by frequent outages, Solana now has an unbroken 2-year uptime record. Coupled with high speed and sub-cent fees, it marks a rapidly maturing network. Now it's real test is decentralization.
