Dr Timmermann says that 60k years ago was the worst time to migrate "Out of Africa" which he prefers to call "Into Eurasia" because the Sahara-Arabia deserts were too cold and dry.

This map from Substack shows climate zones, which overlap with 100-300k year Sapiens range (Saharo-Arabian), Northern Denisovan and Neanderthals (Paleoarctic), Eastern Denisovans (Sino-Japanese), Southern Denisovan (Oriental), and African archaic (Afrotropical)..

Ella says Homo sapiens only migrated "a little ways Out of Africa" 100kya and then Chris notes they may have migrated all the way to China 100kya. Out of Africa has problem with their storytelling.

This is really a bombshell statement from Ella and Chris: Denisovans and Neanderthals as "populations within Homo sapiens" are both valid views 😱

Tim White says Herto is most similar to Australian Aboriginals. Herto is most similar to Heidelbergensis, not Sapiens. "Just outside the range of modern humans" means it is Neanderthal/Heidelberg grade.

The same signal could fit a North African, Levantine, or Arabian-linked population that moved both into Africa and into Eurasia. In that case, ‘OoA population’ is not an exit from Africa at all; it records a borderland population whose ancestry later spread in both directions...

“The genetic model calls this an ‘out-of-Africa’ population because it is the ancestry stream that later dominates non-Africans. But that is a naming convention based on descendants, not a GPS coordinate for the source...

Climate Models shows that 80ka would have been an ideal time for Homo sapiens in southern Eurasia, even into Uzbekistan region where 80ka arrowheads have been discovered.

The term “OoA” is biased and misleading because it describes a genetic relationship, not a proven geographic origin. The lineage labeled “OoA” could just as easily represent a North African or Levantine population that later expanded both into Eurasia AND back into Africa 🙊🙉🙈

“OoA” population could have been a border-zone population — a population partly outside Africa, partly connected to Africa, or moving across the Sahara–Nile–Levant corridor. Later, some of its ancestry moved deeper into Africa. biorxiv.org/content/10.648…

400,000 years ago was very warm according to some models, leading to humans migrating into northern Eurasia including Siberia.

To reconcile early Eurasian Homo sapiens fossils, the Out of Africa model invokes multiple ‘failed’ dispersals, Ust’-Ishim, Zlatý kůň, Ranis, Daoxian, Zhiren cave, Skhul/Qafzeh, Apidima, Al Wusta, and Misliya. At what point does this proliferation of exceptions undermine the model’s parsimony?

@Phillip05166897 I love how Out of Africa questions everything in Eurasia like 80ka arrowheads, Qesem teeth, Amudian tools, but never questions anything in Africa no matter how fragmented, poorly dated, isolated... I could build a stronger theory for Into Africa 70ka using that logic.

Interesting how they are leaving open the possibility that Sapiens reached China 100k years ago... 🧐
60,000 years ago was the worst time to migrate Out of Africa from Ethiopia per climate simulations. Arabia was a barren death trap. The Red Sea was dried up and desolate. They didn't migrate on the coast. The Levant was already occupied!

Homo sites found in Asia within the last 2 million years are concentrated in China, consistent with modern humans originated in East Asia. E. Asia more suitable for Homo to flourish than the Middle East or India or Siberia? How about Africa?

A large nose in a cold climate is not evidence of primitiveness. A projecting face is not evidence of bestiality. A long skull is not evidence of exclusion from the human story.
