A COVID LOVE STORY: THE NEAR-DEATH EXPERIENCE THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING

World-renowned surf artist Drew Brophy and his wife, Maria, recount his terrifying 115-day battle for survival in a hospital’s COVID ward, where doctors repeatedly told them he wouldn’t make it. Drew shares ce that changed his life and the extraordinary love that gave him the strength to fight his way back.

"Is Drew a COVID denier?"

After nine days on a ventilator, Drew Brophy’s wife was told a lung transplant might be his only chance.

Seven hospitals turned him down. One was still considering him.

Then the questions started.

“Is Drew a COVID denier?”

And later:

“Will you go ?”

Maria says she was told she needed to provide proof of vaccination for Drew’s transplant to move forward, despite having been advised by three doctors not to get the shot because of her Hashimoto’s.

Drew says the pressure did not stop there. Even as he recovered, vaccination kept coming up.

“I’m like, man, that thing almost just killed me. I’m definitely not going to have it injected back into my body.”

He never gave in.

“There were angels in that hospital and there were demons in that hospital.”

Many of you may remember the terrible stories emerging from hospitals during the pandemic. People were going in, being placed in the ICU or on a ventilator, and left with family and loved ones having no em and no ability to advocate for them.

At the time, some reports showed extraordinarily high mortality among COVID patients placed on ventilators, including one early New York study in which the vast majority of ventilated patients had died by the time the data were published.

Maria Brophy says she was not allowed at her husband Drew’s bedside for weeks while he was in a medically induced coma. She stood outside his hospital window every day and spoke to him through an iPad.

What may have made a critical difference: they had friends working inside the hospital.

Maria calls them “angels,” because they could see what was happening, get information, and help advocate for Drew when she could not be in the room.

“There were angels in that hospital and there were demons in that hospital.”

Drew survived.

“I believe the people are good. The system is bad.”

“I love you, and I’ve got this.”

Those were the last words Drew Brophy said to his wife before being placed in a medically induced coma and put on a ventilator for COVID.

He stayed there for 28 days.

Doctors told Maria to make funeral plans. She says no one prepared them for rugs, lying flat and immobilized, could do to his body.

Drew survived.

Now they are telling the story of what happened inside that hospital room.

“The only reason I’m here is because of them.

I had one respiratory therapist that did not give up on me, and she thought she could get me off the vent. Alicia, I love you. I mean, she fought, and that one person believing allowed so many other people to believe in that all started believing.

So I just see good in the world. I see all these beautiful people. And so whenever in this world we see this darkness coming over, you need to understand there is an army of light, and they’re not going to stop.

All I saw was beauty. And that’s why I’m here. Gave me the will to live.”

After surviving 28 days in a medically induced coma on a ventilator, Drew Brophy says one respiratory therapist who refused to give up on him helped change everything.

Her belief spread to others in the hospital. For Drew, those were the people who gave him the will to keep fighting.

Difficulty breathing, swelling, hives, weakness, rapid heartbeat and other reactions can occur after a flu shot. In the middle of a procedure, those symptoms can overlap with complications from anesthesia, medications, or the surgery itself.

If something suddenly goes wrong, doctors may be left trying to figure out which variable caused it.

Christina Applegate became one of the most recognizable public faces of multiple sclerosis after her 2021 diagnosis.

Now she says a doctor has told her she may not have MS after all.

Her story lands alongside new Cambridge research finding that women are more likely to have missed as psychological, misdiagnosed as psychosomatic, or delayed before getting the right diagnosis.

President Trump has now created a new NIH task force focused on women’s health, with an emphasis on moving research toward actual clinical outcomes and care.

For women who have spent years being dismissed, misdiagnosed, or told it was “all in their head,” that shift is long overdue.

What started as student protests in France over the cost of living and pensions has grown into something much bigger.

Dozens of outside political and activist groups have reportedly moved into the demonstrations as the country struggles with mounting debt and pressure to cut hat is the part Americans should be watching.

France’s debt problem is squeezing everything from pensions to everyday living costs. The U.S. carries many of the same pressures, with one major advantage for now: the dollar is still the world’s reserve currency.

What is happening in France may be a warning about what happens when the numbers finally stop working.

Dr. John Gray: Why Men and Women Are Wired Differently

Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus sold more hardcover copies in the 1990s than any book except the Bible. Dr. John Gray was on 18 Oprah episodes. Then, in about a week, every corporate booking dried up, the major shows e media decided he was a sexist. He joins Del for a segment Del says deserves a PG-13 warning, right before Off the Record.

Gray’s argument is biological. Male testosterone levels in 20-year-olds have dropped 20% over the last two decades. Atrazine, the pesticide linked to hormone disruption in frogs, is in the food supply and is measurably affecting human hormones. Plastics suppress testosterone in men and elevate it in women. Under moderate stress, blood flow in women moves away from the prefrontal cortex toward the emotional brain. They need to talk. In men under the same stress, blood flow moves away from the emotional brain toward logic. They need silence and a problem to solve. Talking raises estrogen in either sex. Solving problems raises testosterone. Those are not cultural preferences. Gray says they are measurable and reproducible.

He connects the hormonal environment to the fertility and intimacy crisis Del opened the show with: sexless marriages, young adults not forming relationships, declining birth rates. Gray’s new book is “Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus: For Women Only, Be Happy With or Without a Man.” He argues women have moved into more testosterone-dominant patterns through independent professional life, and that the skills for lowering stress, raising estrogen, and reconnecting with a partner are learnable. He also tackles why teenagers are not having sex: pornography and OnlyFans deliver more dopamine with less skill required than real relationships, and until that is addressed upstream, the problem compounds.

The conversation continues on Off the Record, which airs Friday nights on thehighwire.com.

Big Pharma Buys Your Doctor With Dinner

A federal judge in Massachusetts blocked RFK Jr.’s ACIP appointees. The DOJ is now fighting in the First Circuit Court of Appeals to restore them. Del breaks down what the court actually said, why the judge’s reasoning fell apart, and what ation meta-analysis says about why conflicts of interest on that committee are exactly the problem Kennedy was trying to fix.

Chief U.S. Circuit Judge David Barron said from the bench that the lower court’s order lacked any explanation for why blocking Kennedy’s 13 appointees was legally authorized or justified. He said it was “hard to know precisely what harm this relief was designed to address.” All Kennedy did was reconstitute ACIP with members who have no pharmaceutical financial ties.

A meta-analysis of 93 studies by the Cochrane Collaboration now confirms what ACIP’s critics have argued for years: pharmaceutical industry contact is associated with less appropriate prescribing, greater prescription volume, and higher costs. The study’s author, Dr. Lisa Barrow, put it plainly. More contact with drug company promotion means prescribing becomes less appropriate, more frequent, and more expensive. That finding came from meals alone. ACIP members receive millions from vaccine manufacturers and vote on recommendations for the entire country.

Del notes that Kennedy’s original target was the hepatitis B birth dose, a vaccine unnecessary for newborns not born to hepatitis B-positive mothers. That single proposed change triggered the injunction, blocked every ACIP meeting, and stripped Kennedy of the advisory infrastructure needed to act on anything else.

The UN Quietly Buried Its Own Climate Apocalypse

The United Nations has withdrawn its worst-case climate projection: the one that said temperatures would rise eight degrees Fahrenheit by the end of the century and polar ice caps would melt completely. @delbigtree and wn what that retraction means, who paid for it, and what it is already costing people this winter.

The World Climate Research Programme, a UN-affiliated organization, issued a new assessment quietly stating that high-emission worst-case scenarios are now “implausible.” Del draws a direct parallel to British epidemiologist Neil Ferguson’s COVID lockdown projections: one worst-case number, adopted globally, used to justify decisions that restructured entire economies. Countries shut down North Sea oil and gas. Energy infrastructure was dismantled. The UK grid operator has put power stations on alert. Europe is set for another year of high gas prices with reserves at critical lows. Britain risks running out of gas by the end of winter.

The science was never settled. It said it was. Del and Jaxen point to a Lancet study analyzing over 74 million deaths across 13 countries: cold weather kills 20 times as many people as hot weather. Stripping energy infrastructure in the name of climate fears does not just hurt economies. It kills people. Jaxen notes the timing. The same WEF-aligned companies that promoted net zero and told the public to stop driving and flying are now pouring money into AI data centers that will require 100 times the energy they told us was destroying the planet.

The FDA once claimed it needed 75 years to release the data it used to license Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine. @ICANdecide attorney Alycia Perkins joins Del to explain how that number became 9 million pages released to the public, and what it took to get there.

Perkins walks through n process: two separate lawsuits (PHMPT1 for ages 16 and up in September 2021, PHMPT2 for ages 12 through 15 and Moderna in October 2022), a federal judge in the Northern District of Texas ordering production at 55,000 pages per month, and then a second court order pushing that to 180,000 pages per month after ICAN discovered the FDA had misrepresented how much data actually existed. As of October 1st, the FDA has acknowledged all of it has been released. Science and books are already being written from the data.

Del credits the Pfizer data release as one of ICAN’s greatest accomplishments, on par with winning religious vaccine exemptions in Mississippi. Perkins closes with a clear message on what comes next. The FDA demonstrated it can produce over 100,000 pages per month when ordered to do so. There is no justification for reverting to 300 to 500 pages per month on other pending FOIA requests. ICAN has more than 4,000 funded FOIA requests and will return to court as necessary.

RFK Jr. blamed COVID-era vaccine disruptions for measles. @DelBigtree says that misses the point.

A reporter recently asked Kennedy about five measles deaths in Pennsylvania and a possible sixth. He cited Fauci’s warning that COVID shutdowns could interrupt measles vaccination.
mber of his own: before the measles vaccine, the U.S. saw roughly 400 to 500 measles deaths a year. Using the CDC’s estimates of 3–4 million infections and 400–500 deaths a year, roughly 0.01% of infections resulted in death.

But Del says the bigger fallout from COVID was lost trust. People watched the guidance shift and started asking what else they’d been told was wrong.

The Climate Lawsuit at the Supreme Court

The Supreme Court is now hearing Suncor Energy v. Board of County Commissioners of Boulder County, a case that would allow localities to sue oil and gas companies for climate damages. Del and Jefferey Jaxen walk through what’s at stake, Justice Alito’s recusal, and why New York’s climate Superfund law was already struck down by a federal judge as unconstitutional.

Alito recused himself because he and his wife hold substantial investments in oil and gas companies, acknowledging that a ruling against the industry could devastate those holdings. That self-recusal removes one vote most likely to side with energy companies, shifting the court’s balance on the case.

New York Governor Hochul signed a separate climate Superfund law in 2024 requiring oil and gas companies to pay $75 billion into a fund to offset climate damages. A federal judge has since struck it down as unconstitutional. Vermont passed a similar law now also facing legal challenge. Meanwhile, in the UK, the Labour government has issued revised statutory guidance ordering councils to redesign roads with cars at the bottom, and tied municipal funding to compliance.

Del, who grew up in Boulder, reflects on his own history as an environmentalist, and the conversation lands on the core tension: the entire legal and legislative push targets the energy source that built and still runs the country, while the lawyers flying in to argue the case burn the same fuel to get to the courthouse. Jaxen notes that if the Supreme Court case goes the way climate advocates want, the financial impact on oil and gas companies would be effectively overnight, and no alternative is ready to replace that capacity.

Dr. Shannon Kroner’s New Book: Making America Healthy Again

Dr. Shannon Kroner has been in the medical freedom movement since the early 2000s, working with children with autism and other disabilities, and watching firsthand as vaccine injury changed the trajectory of families. , Make America Healthy Again, celebrates the moment she predicted before it happened: RFK Jr. and President Trump joining forces on health reform.

Kroner joins Del to talk about the book and the road that led to it. She was 12 weeks pregnant during the 2009 swine flu epidemic, got a preservative-free flu vaccine on her doctor’s recommendation, and ended up in the hospital profusely leaking amniotic fluid. Told by multiple doctors to end the pregnancy, she refused, did her own research, put herself on bed rest, and carried to term. Her 16-year-old son is healthy today. That experience is why every one of her books urges parents to research for themselves.

Kroner talks about what she sees as genuine progress (particularly the new NIH vaccine injury division) and why she believes the deep state is real and the work of dismantling it is harder and slower than critics of the administration want to acknowledge.

The conversation also covers ZDogg, who publicly mocked Kroner in 2018 when she invited him to a multi-perspective vaccine debate. Doctors who had agreed to participate were called off one by one (Emory stepped in, the AMA applied pressure), and the debate never happened. Kroner says she doesn’t want a debate with ZDogg now. She wants an apology.

Make America Healthy Again is available for preorder wherever books are sold.

ZDogg Said What?

For over a decade, ZDogg (Dr. Zubin Damania) built his platform calling vaccine-questioning parents third-grade-level thinkers, demanding they be shamed and silenced, and attacking Del by name. Now, in a recent interview with Vinay Prasad, he’s saying something uch thing as anti-vaxxers and pro-vaxxers, just people trying to do right by their kids, and public health bears a large burden of responsibility for where vaccine trust is today.

Del plays the new clip, then plays the old ones. There’s no ambiguity about what ZDogg said before, calling parents who questioned vaccines “entrenched and delusional,” saying they deserved to be mocked, saying he would never let them speak. In the new interview, ZDogg acknowledges that myocarditis from COVID vaccines happens, that some of those cases lead to heart failure and pulmonary embolism, that the absolutist approach was wrong, and that when his own child was due for the full vaccine series, it didn’t feel right even to him.

Del also corrects the record on one moment ZDogg used for years as content: footage of a man banging on a studio window during a pro-vaccine broadcast. That man, Del says, was a father whose baby daughter, Zara Antoinette Shields, had died shortly after vaccination. He wasn’t an anti-vaxxer. He was a grieving father trying to get through a door.

Del extends an open invitation: ZDogg’s place or his, on camera, for the full conversation.

Mercury in Your Mouth: The Dirty Secret of Dentistry

Half of American dentists are still using mercury amalgam fillings. Biological dentist Dr. Marc DiNola joins Del, along with patient Zachary, who spent years doing everything right for his health (clean diet, herbal medicine, leaving the mercury in his teeth untouched.

RFK Jr. and Dr. Oz recently stood side by side to announce a federal push to end the use of mercury amalgam, urging state Medicaid programs to transition away from a material that contains 54% mercury. DiNola breaks down why the announcement matters and what it left out. Mercury fillings off-gas vapor 24 hours a day, accelerated by hot liquids, grinding, and chewing. That vapor depletes glutathione (the body’s primary antioxidant) and drives oxidative stress, inflammation, and energy disruption throughout the body. What the HHS announcement’s risk categories didn’t mention: mercury amalgam in the mouth imparts multi-drug resistant bacteria in the gut, a connection to antibiotic resistance that DiNola calls the mic drop the government left on the floor.

Zachary’s story is the segment’s center of gravity. Despite a years-long health transformation that resolved kidney stones and major weight issues, he kept hitting a wall... until he met DiNola in a men’s group and had his mouth examined. Mercury removal was followed by a two-week detox. Within a month, the brain fog lifted.

He then had a root canal removed using DiNola’s biological protocol: ozone disinfection of the bone, platelet-rich fibrin packed into the socket, and sutures. He has not been seriously ill since. DiNola also covers the SMART protocol for safe mercury removal, where to find trained biological dentists (IAOMT and AOMT), and why mercury must be removed before root canal work in a full-mouth revision.
