It was an absolute joy to have the Australasian Bat Society come to my hometown of Adelaide.
Following the conference we travelled to Calperum Station (near Renmark) and caught many of South Australia’s amazing bat species.
Check out these awesome photos by @Safari_Ari9

While visiting this observatory in Yeocheon, the closest point to North Korea, my friend Miyeon told one of the soldiers that I'm a bat specialist. He told us they beleive they have bats in one of their old buildings, and asked if I'd like to check it out.

Unfortuantely no bats were found, even with an ultrasonic recorder. They just had a rat problem after all.

What’s that? That’s the white-striped free-tailed bat calling for your vote in @CosmosMagazine’s Australian Mammal of the Year!
This bat is more than likely found in YOUR backyard, so they’ll know if you don’t vote for them!
