Jim Rogers co-founded the Quantum Fund with George Soros in 1973. Over the next ten years, it returned over 4,000%. He retired at 37. Then he moved his family to Asia and started betting against America.
In the video below, Rogers explains exactly what he saw coming - and why he s heading for a crash it can't avoid.
He didn't just invest in China. He relocated there. Moved his daughters to Singapore and made them learn Mandarin. Not as a hobby. As a decision about who controls the next century.
His reasoning: China saves 35% of its income. It's the largest creditor nation in the world. While US investors were buying tech stocks and houses, Rogers was buying oil, silver, rice, natural gas. Real things. Things China needed by the shipload.
He's been short US government bonds for years.
On inflation, he said it plainly: Bernanke kept insisting there was none. Rogers said go to any grocery store. Food, insurance, education, medical care - all going up. "One of us is wrong," he said. "And it's not me."
His fix for the debt crisis was just as direct. Let the bad debts clear. Scandinavia did it. Korea did it. Chile did it. Three years of pain, then fifteen years of growth.
"When you make bad mistakes," he said, "somebody has to pay."
Is he right that America is just delaying the inevitable, or is there still a way out?
