@drivelinekyle Your Juco doubts were confirmed a few years ago as big league umpire Jeff Nelson came to look at some pitches in our bullpen (during the big league playoffs) as he was going to have Game 7 of the World Series. Our pitchers thought they were throwing strikes….they weren’t.

I just don’t think it gets talked about enough that positioning is also a big reason why batting averages are down (along with velocity). If you wanna blame the “nerds” for why batting averages are down, ok, blame them for this. This is a hit 100% of the time “back in the day”.

Patrick Bailey just made the best throw/time I’ve ever seen.
What do you get on this throw? Checking Savant in a bit. Wow.

1970ish. That’s me on the left. Bat Boy….don’t tell me I can’t get in the picture….I’ll find a way. No swag to be found.
Last summer I was at a park & there was a 10U travel team with the sliding oven mitts & $500 bats warming up to “Pink Pony Club.” The vodka/Mio Stanley-succin’ mama bears & their squares sheet scheming husbands have ruined youth baseball.

Proud to be a 35 year, lifetime member. A great organization. If you are a baseball coach and not a member of the @ABCA1945 check it out, you’ll be a better coach if you utilize the resources they provide….and there are many!

Had two baseball heroes growing up. Only two jersey’s I’ve ever bought. Thanks to TBS and WGN and my parent’s getting cable TV in 1979, I got to watch them about every day. ❤️❤️

@collin_wilber Back to back tweets here. The first one from @JWonCATCHING, in my opinion, the most learned and respected baseball coach in the game (by professional coaches/peers) and has done it at every level showing a catcher stealing possibly 20 strikes for his pitcher…and then….

An “eerie silence” as this ball left the Flagler College field headed for US -1, then quite possibly the Atlantic. As most at this game had never seen a ball hit that far…. no data, but the looks of those watching tells me it was an outlier for distance and EV. @DawsonHarman

First day at the field….Yes, JC, perfect….that’s how you signal to the umpire that you would like to kindly suggest that they take a look at the video for review…or maybe I let the players have access to their music in the press box. #BabyPat
