Trump gave away a key point of leverage for nothing in return. He’s not a negotiator or a good businessman. It’s no surprise he’s filed bankruptcy 6 times.
Zelenskyy: Sanctions were imposed on Russia for aggression, occupation and killings.
We shouldn't buy Russia's loyalty by lifting them.
We could end up at the negotiating table with no result, while sanctions are already gone.

First Lady Melania Trump is claiming credit for a ceasefire in Russian-occupied Oleshky, southern Ukraine.
But the Vatican says it was Pope Leo XIV who phoned Putin on Oct. 16, while still in hospital after lung cancer surgery, and asked for a truce to get food and aid in. The all. Secretary of State Cardinal Parolin says the initiative was the pope's.
As @thedailybeast notes, it's reminiscent of 2016, when Melania said she wrote her RNC speech "with as little help as possible," only for whole passages to turn out to mirror Michelle Obama's 2008 convention speech.
