The new surgical standard for high risk prostate cancer! Curious as to how many urologists will move the needle or keep doing old high risk prostatectomy without multidisciplinary care?

America we have a serious problem with pharma when it is cheaper to fly to Europe to get your meds than what you top of the line insurance covers in the US. Wonder why patients are noncompliant with meds? Affordability

GETUG 18: for patients with local, high risk prostate cancer who receive primary radiation and long term ADT, radiation dose matters.
80 Gy (via IMRT) is better than 70 Gy.
Improved PFS, cancer-specific survival and OS.
A few points:
- Pts received either pelvic node de radiation (83%)
- ADT was to be given for 3 years
- Treatment related toxicities appeared similar between arms.
- Some of these pts would qualify for abiraterone x2 years today based on STAMPEDE data (don't know how abi use would influence these findings).
