Public speaking got easier when I realized the audience isn't waiting for me to fail.
They're rooting for me.
The story I told @Toastmasters 👇

I've been talking to audiences for over a decade.
Now I've spiced up my website to reflect all that hard work.

Embeddings for people who hate math:
Give ideas coordinates. Similar things land near each other.
That's the trick behind a shocking amount of modern AI.

Favorite feeling in open source:
You build a thing.
Years pass.
It hits 9K stars at @infinite_red and doesn't need you anymore.
That's success. 🫡

Nice going, everyone.
Alabama passed a law, 138 votes to nothing, that makes every phone user in the state prove their age before downloading a single app.
A 45-year-old who wants a news app has to hand ID to Google first. Existing accounts get no pass either. Every one of them must be verified by October 2027.
Teenagers will need a parent’s sign-off to install Wikipedia, Duolingo or a Bible app, and kids without a parent to ask get locked out completely.
Apple, Google and Amazon’s lobby group has now sued to block it on First Amendment grounds.

Years ago I trained an AI to spot Nicolas Cage so we could protect the Declaration of Independence.
People laughed.
This summer Dallas put out a cardboard Nic Cage to explain where its Declaration went.
I'd like an apology from history.

In 2018 I built a React State Museum: one app, every state library.
It's now a literal museum. 🦕

I've spent years trying to kill boilerplate. (Hi, Ignite 👋 @infinite_red)
Plot twist: it never dies.
Templates became prompts. Generators became agents.

Adding React Native to an existing app? Start with how your teams work together.
React Native can live in your native project or be built separately as a library your native team adds without setting up Node or Metro.

The iPhone Duo is about to hit the market... but will your app feel natural on it?
Over on the blog, Sean Barker writes on designing for the space available and why to test what youve already shipped before doing anything too fancy.
