What a brilliant piece of telly. Not sure I’ve ever said that. Gambling is a cynical, dirty business, it makes its owners incredibly rich while exploiting people and ruining lives. It dominates football now. At Forest Green Rovers we refuse to take gambling sponsorship - and mbling with Lives’ instead. Gambling is hyper normalised by the exposure football clubs and TV channels give it - it’s a toxic combo. We should end it, just as tobacco sponsorship was ended, decades ago.

Key issue:

•if gambling is promoted, it will ⬆️
•if any risk factor increases, suicide will ⬆️ (as with alcohol)
•therefore anything that promotes even “responsible” gambling will cost lives.
