Congratulations to @ComEd's DERMS Deployment and Power Quality Dashboard Teams for being recognized by the Association of Edison Illuminating Companies, receiving The President’s Award — AEIC’s highest honor.
ComEd’s Power Quality Dashboard helps our teams identify abnormal re customers are affected, then address those deficiencies. The success of our Distributed Energy Resource Management System (DERMS) has been key to ComEd’s leadership in community solar, part of the 2 GW of distributed energy resources we now have on our grid.
Great work by our teams!

The storms we’re experiencing are becoming more intense and challenging. @ComEd counted 21 of these severe storm events so far in 2026 — the most in at least two decades. Our grid must be ready for them.
This is why the investments we’re making to modernize and harden the grid counting on @argonne to give us highly advanced, data-driven insights into our climate, so we can make the most targeted, cost-effective decisions for strengthening the grid. The choices we make today will determine how reliably we can serve our communities for decades to come.

One of my hopes with the podcast is to get beyond theoretical "this might do that" in the power sector and to "this actually does that". Listen for the mechanics of building for higher grid utilization from @ComEd
Great talking to @NatBullard about the infrastructure investments we're making at @ComEd to build the digital grid of the future. We're using technologies that help us increase grid utilization and potentially put downward pressure on electric bills for our customers.

From my Nameplate podcast chat with @GQenergy: @ComEd lays fiber and buys spectrum to improve data backhaul from its electrical network. And it's all part of a century+ old dream for utility operators: ever-higher capacity utilization of fixed assets. Video:

When corporate and civic leaders truly care about the community, that's how we create hope and belief in the people who live in those communities. When people have hope and belief, then we have the catalysts for a more vibrant, thriving Chicago.
That was my closing message at lub of Chicago event celebrating @Corp_Coalition, an organization that is dedicated to facilitating corporate participation in programs that expand opportunities for local residents in every region.
