This made me feel bad for AIs, inherently blind and completely dependent on the senses we give them to be telling them the truth.
Video tampering can mislead every frontier model we tested into harmful actions, including a 100% attempt rate on stabbing a baby doll, producing toxic gas, and pouring water into a toaster.

We're presenting at CoRL Late Breaking Results next week.

I don't think either teachers or students have institutional power.
who has the power in this scenario? do adult women have less institutional etc power than male 8 year old subjects? are such students even allowed to use the bathroom when they wish?

🇸🇪 List of European countries founded by Swedes.
Finland: Swedes
Denmark: Swedish Danes
Norway & Iceland: Swedish Norwegians
Germany: Swedish Germans
France: Swedish Franks
England: Swedish Anglo-Saxons, Normans
Spain: Visigoths
Italy: Lombards, Ostrogoths
Russia & Ukraine: Rus
It's amusing that ancient genomes appear to keep moving the origin of Germanics north, a sort of confirmation of Hyperborea.

US data center industry destroyed, Western world saved by one nation's decision to build their own model....
The differing perceptions of AI are wild. The country just voted against data centers on 40+ provisions nationwide and hates AI. (Plenty of legitimate gripes.) But most of those people are just unaware that AI is finding a new cancer cure or treatment weekly, going through decades of peer reviewed data and uncovering mountains of errors, that its correcting, throughout every academic field. Replacing billions of man hours of drudgery. Closest thing to a “miracle” I’ve ever witnessed. When I talk to people outside of tech/VC, they’re just unaware of all of it.

Isn't that what the universally derided "FYP Rightist" already refers to.
It’s easy to pile onto Fugitive Caesar right now.

But do you have the media market literacy to also despise 2CB, Lomez, Future Moldovan, NMV, ZHP, Diomedes Appreciator, Aristophanes, Bennett’s Phylactery, Covfefe Anon, and every other balding xillennial head of that GC hydra?

The only thing a normie hates more than an amoral capitalist is a capitalist with a well-reasoned moral framework.
Community note
The excerpt is from Dario Amodei's 2010 GiveWell guest post as a Princeton physics grad student; he donated the $10k to VillageReach (child vaccines) and described the critical analysis as emotionally taxing.

Now do the Thirty Years' War.
More women were killed during the French Revolution just for being religious in 3 years (hundreds of them) than all the Spanish Inquisition's witchcraft trials in 300 years (6).

1% for civilian government, 30% for pensioners, 45% for border wall... Prescient view of Evropa in 2035.
Ming Dynasty budget as of ~1582. Completely insane that they were spending almost a third of the budget on useless non-working stipendiaries compared to under 1% on the combined salaries of the entire bureaucracy. Do not do this.

People who say this are taking a stance on the Obama question.
Supremely funny to call Abdul El Sayed the first *openly* Muslim Senator in US history. Implies a history of closeted Muslims. Like Charles Sumner or Frank Church were secret Muslims reading the Quran in their basements.

My actual prediction is not that you're going to get tired of winning.

When TPOT runs the government (2025), you're going to honestly get so used to winning you don't even notice it anymore.

I think we're in a golden age for software dev right now actually, centaur coding with AI is a lot of fun. The issue is there soon won't be a need for the human part of the centaur.
the nostalgia for pre-AI swe is so funny to me, yeah man I really enjoyed fixing CI and merge conflicts by hand

Out of all these AI is the only one that could count as really bad. Maybe the pandemic too if you were e.g. trying to keep a restaurant afloat, but not for the average person.
Millennials realizing they’ve lived through 2 economic recessions, 9/11, a global pandemic, 8 stock market crashes, their jobs being replaced by AI, and probably WW3 before hitting 43

These third world accounts aren't posting this for clicks btw, extreme cuck fantasies on repeat is just the default inner monologue for any male born outside the Hajnal line.
Most men will one day kiss their bride at the altar in front of an audience of her past.

Six exes in suits pretending to be happy for her.

Three male besties who have already had their turn.

The one-night stand guy who only bought her a cider and still got it.

And that old rich man she will shamelessly introduce as "uncle."

They will all sit there, eating the groom's food recklessly, laughing, drinking free alcohol.

Just the way they all ate his wife before he even came into the picture.

This is modern marriage. Most men are not marrying a wife. They are marrying the community leftovers & calling it love.

An admirable trait of ‘normies’ is that they don’t pretend to have read the edgy canon. Some of you should learn from that, put down 1000 Plateaus, let the soft animal of your body love what it loves.

I cannot more emphatically reject this way of thinking. Everyone matters. Everyone is living a real life. No one is an NPC. It's a kind of madness to think that the will to power is a prerequisite for realness.
there are probably fewer than 500M conscious people on earth that understand self agency to its core. everyone else is just a derivative of a narrative and their lives are mostly fake. literal sub agents just doing stuff. Will isn’t wrong in terms of ‘actual people’ on earth vs slop consumers willing to do what the narrative constructors say they should
