🧵2/3 Candace Owens dismissed her assistant's concerns, thinking it was a ridiculous accusation.
Why? who knows.
Candace recalls this in a video years later saying, in essence, that her assistant was a clout chasing slut who might have been interested in working with him. 😳

Yes, but he is the founder, which is what she claimed.
Weird that Mel always defends the very characters I find to be most suspect.

polymarket hack
here’s what happened in the polymarket hack:
> polymarket just got hacked through a speed tracking script.
> polymarketdotcom loaded a small script from @DebugBear, a company that checks how fast websites run
> someone swapped that file for a wallet drainer. same name, same address
it like polymarket's own code
> it found your logged in session and checked your balance
> then it sold your positions and sent your money out through polymarket's own withdrawal system
>no password or seed phrase needed
simple way to picture it: the building's security is fine, but a cleaning company has keys to every office. Someone got hold of the cleaning company's keys and walked in dressed as a cleaner

🚨995 Polymarket accounts just got drained through Polymarket's own website. Let me explain how, because this one should scare everyone in crypto.
No fake link. No shady airdrop. These people were on the real Polymarket dot com on Thursday.
Polymarket's site loaded a script whose only job is measuring how fast the page loads. Somebody poisoned it.
Once it was running in your browser, it grabbed your logged-in trading session and started dumping every open position you had, first at 3% under market, then at half price, then at the lowest price possible. Then it swapped the whole balance into POL and shipped it to the attacker. Stablecoins can be frozen. POL can't.
It even reported back after every hit. Your wallet, your country, your portfolio size, whether the transfer went through. All of it sent home through DebugBear's own data endpoints.
The attacker's wallet went from empty to $2M in about 45 minutes. Conor Grogan's final count was $2.65M.
One trader said he lost $800K and watched every position get sold. His friend got hit for $600K.
Polymarket flipped the exchange to cancel-only, paused the relayer and says everyone will be made whole. Credit where it's due.
But this is the third time this year. About $700K in May. About $3M in June, through a hacked third-party script, same as now.
I've been phished. I've been drained. Stay in crypto long enough and it happens to you. But the people on Thursday did nothing wrong. They opened the right website.
Not one of these three hacks touched a smart contract. We spent ten years making the blockchain unbreakable and then let a page speed tracker sit right next to people's money.

Tucker Carlson's brother praising John Mappin for lecturing John Cullen about how Scientology could set him free.
🤨
The post touches on having good manners & humour but mostly it's about how wonderful the Big S is.

1948: The Berlin Blockade.
Russia refused to allow supplies in or out of West Berlin, stranding allied forces and their families without food or heating fuel.
The dispute was over currency.
Had you ever heard of this?
And people wonder why NATO was necessary.

Quebec once again serving as a wedge that the US can push on for leverage.
I wish the feds would revisit the equalization payment system and let them collapse.

Quebec’s separatist premier has said he will boycott the EU-Canada summit that opens in Montreal today, warning European leaders that deals struck there without his government’s consent may not be applied in the country’s second-biggest province.

I believe in independent media. We need more independent researchers and more independent voices, which is why I’ll always root for people doing this work outside the big outlets. That being said, the people doing this work have to genuinely care about the information they put e receiving it. Otherwise we’re no better than the media conglomerates people come to us to escape.
The Leah Files just sent her midterm predictions to more than 41,000 subscribers, and I’m one of them. As I read through the post, I couldn’t help but notice her numbers were dramatically different from what I’d seen in the FEC filings this week. Her post is missing more than half of James Talarico’s fundraising. It ends by telling readers to look up everything on their ballot at her funding guide before they vote, and that guide says Maine’s Democratic Senate nominee “has reported raising nothing” when the FEC shows he’s raised $26.9 million.
On top of that, her maps are missing states. New York and Rhode Island are gone, and “RC” isn’t a real state. They also list people who aren’t on the ballot. Oklahoma says “Nuzzell,” who isn’t running, and Florida says DeSantis, who’s term-limited. Indiana doesn’t even have a governor’s race this year, and it says “Britzker.” That’s especially dangerous with early voting already underway.
When I asked her about it, she said it was published a few weeks ago, even though the post was only two hours old at the time. Then my note correcting her numbers was gone.
And look, nobody expects any of us to be perfect. Digging through all of these files and keeping everything straight in your head is a really tough job, and I get that more than anyone. But telling your readers to use a website you made before they vote, when it’s full of outdated and wrong numbers, is where I draw the line. If independent media is going to be better than the outlets we’re pushing against, we have to get the facts right.

The actual owner of Rumble contradicts Leah files' rambling word salad
@OliverJanich @leahfiles @jimmy_dore I have majority voting control.
It’s not changing under my watch when it comes to free speech and censorship.
People have been attacking us since we became big, and we are still here, protecting free speech better than any of the big platforms. Full stop.
