Lindos gatitos en adopción 😭😭😭 nos los dejaron en la puerta de nuestra casa. Se entregan con primera vacuna, descarte de leucemia, desparasitados y con pipeta antipulgas. No pedimos nada a cambio, solo que les den un lindo hogar 😺😺😺

PhD Defense done. I'm happy to report that I obtained a Magna cum laude. This was not a single person's achievement, so many people were involved in the project. I deeply thank all of them, especially my mentor @FlorianPMaurer for the support and patience. Milestone completed :)

PhD thesis submitted. Thank you so much to my main PI @FlorianPMaurer who has been amazingly supportive since I arrived at Hamburg airport in March 2018. The journey is not over as I still need to defend and publish, but i think it is important to ackowledge all the steps.

Along this journey I found myself constantly remembering my previos mentors and great bosses @mincle @AntoBeck @inflammasomelab. And so many great scientists, friends, I met and from which I learned so much @_kaiwenchen @dave_boucher @JelenaLab @Rebecca_Coll.

From how to properly read a paper to how to troubleshoot a western blot, you were all there with me. And of course I can't overlook the new scientists I met here, from who I also learned a lot. Thank you @ahaparret @WilmannsGroup @kshbeckham @cgsfpetit. Thank you all!

One of the weirder things about being a scientist is the dissonance between our training to be rational thinkers that control all variables in our work & the increasing realisation that so much of science is based on serendipity, luck, timing, factors we have little control over.
