You can have a fun lab without sleeping with the fellows in the program you direct!
One of the things that got me about the @DMSabatini story was the allegation that his lab promoted “bro culture.” Not only is being a bro not a crime (no matter what some might have you think) but labs, especially ones that operate at such a high level, rely on people being ed, and yes, having fun. I loved Sabatini’s response to my question in my interview with him for @PirateWires, on how American science has become corporate and sterile:

When shareholders are informed before the medical community… this is not respectful to investigators and patients involved in clinical trials.
#ESMO26: The embargo on LBA1, “INTerpath-001: Phase 3 study of the mRNA-based individualised neoantigen therapy intismeran autogene plus pembrolizumab versus pembrolizumab alone for adjuvant treatment of resected stage IIB-IV melanoma”, has been breached. As the data are now publicly available, ESMO has released the information contained in the abstract and has lifted the embargo on the full dataset.
