"I love Bron but... people gotta leave Mike alone"

Jeff Teague and Club520 talk about young Michael Jordan was a unicorn that has never been duplicated til this day. Mike is 63, hasn't played in 25 years, and is still the standard for The as able to study and mimic older MJ. Young MJ is uncopiable. He was a true once in a lifetime thing - Haley's Comet.

This is why all these years later whenever a modern player makes a brilliantly athletic play, the first thing these young clowns do is take a shot at Mike. Because he did ALL THAT SHIT 40 years ago - the standard.

That's just one small reason that he's the GOAT and that the player who will supplant him probably has not been born yet.

๐Ÿ’ฏโ€ผ๏ธ at the highest levels, itโ€™s 90% mental. It really is. Knowing how and when to push buttons. Trust.. itโ€™s all about the message you send.
Steve Kerr says Gregg Popovich was so good at delivering bad news that he could bench you and somehow make you feel good about it

โ€œGregg Popovich was the best Iโ€™ve ever seen at delivering a bad message in a really good way. He took me out of the rotation as a player one time, ter-of-fact, but I knew how much he cared about me. The way you deliver a message, Iโ€™ve never seen anybody as powerful as him, because he could tell you youโ€™re being demoted but make you feel good about it.โ€

โ€œThe way he would do it was with genuine compassion. โ€˜Hey, I know this is tough, but weโ€™re going to take you out of the rotation. You stay with it, and hereโ€™s why.โ€™ The clarity is really important. It canโ€™t be, โ€˜Hey, just keep your head up. Youโ€™ll be fine.โ€™ Itโ€™s got to be, โ€˜Hereโ€™s why. Iโ€™m going to play him because we need somebody to do this right now.โ€™โ€

โ€œHe would do it in a way that could also really be jarring, make you realize, โ€˜Iโ€™ve got to be better. My approach has to be better. My attitude has to be better.โ€™โ€

โ€œAnd I realized then that coaching is not just encouraging and saying, โ€˜Hey, you knowโ€ฆโ€™ You have to be honest with people at difficult times. But the way you deliver the message is everything. Iโ€™ve prided myself on that skill that Gregg Popovich showed me.โ€

One of the biggest changes in high school basketball recruiting is the rise of two-year agreements.

One power-five GM to @Rivals: โ€œIf a player is being offered a million dollars for a single year, I might not want to pay that their freshman season.

But I could offer $700,000 year one, and $1.3 million in year two. Then I could tell the agent, look, we are making a bigger commitment, offering a total of $2 million guaranteed over two years.โ€
NEW: Some of the nation's top high school basketball recruits are commanding NIL offers approaching $5 million for a single season.

I spoke with anonymous college coaches and GMs about the rising market, two-year deals, and what goes on behind the scenes during negotiations.

An excellent look at what menโ€™s college ๐Ÿ€ teams are offering & paying high school basketball recruits.

And how player contracts are being structured.

Five star recruits are generally demanding 1 yr deals.

Lower ranked recruits are sometimes taking 2 yr deals.

Market is up.

Extreme usage is usually a red flag, not a flex. The 35โ€“40% USG leaderboard is basically a graveyard of monster individual seasons that went nowhere.

The Top 45 highest-usage individual seasons literally resulted in ZERO championships.
