Our work with @CLESthinkdo showed this will help ensure more of the billions of pounds spent on public contracts each year stays in Scotland, supporting local jobs and services. We all win when more money is spent locally with small businesses.

We are pleased @ELCouncil has joined the growing number of Scottish local authorities commissioning specific research on the likely impact of introducing a Visitor Levy on the local economy. That's a sound, common-sense decision.

Rising utility bills are now the biggest driver of cost increases for small businesses in Scotland. We are calling on the UK Chancellor to cut the RO levy on small business bills, as it has been for consumers, @colin_borland told @ScottWWright on The Herald Business Podcast.

We're very pleased to see the Commercial Payments Bill successfully made it through the House of Lords this week - a huge step towards stamping out late payments for good after more than 20 years of FSB campaigning.
⏰ Late payments cost small firms £11 billion every year, but they aren't just bad for small businesses and the self employed; they're bad for growth, local communities, employees, and the economy as a whole.
✅ The Bill will now move to the House of Commons for the next stage of Parliamentary scrutiny.

Too many firms do the work, send the invoice and then get paid late.
That's money that could be going towards wages, investment and growth. We're taking action on late payments.
