How to watch football like an expert from the comfort of your couch

Been working on this for a while. Special thanks to Carson Palmer, who talked about "PHD level" pre-snap reads and @smartfootball who added some advice that you'll want to read.

Over the past five weeks, Green Bay is 6th in EPA/dropback, and Love has a bottom-5 sack rate while being one of the most ambitious passers in the league.

All with a makeshift run and a non-existent run game.

He's a fantastic quarterback. x.com/FB_FilmAnalysi…
He’s playing incredible football. Makeshift OL, no run game, most drops in the league, and putting up numbers.

If the Jags are getting only 3rd round pick offers for BTJ and told KC, the only way they’d trade to them is for a second would you do it if you’re Veach?

The Panthers had a 44% blitz rate and did not sack Jordan Love

That is the 4th highest blitz rate without generating a sack in a game this season, per @SumerSports

Important Panthers get the ball back quick, for the time (obviously) but Packers pass rush is a bit winded.

Licht has only used a first round pick on a QB once (Winston) and it’s simply one of the hardest things to do in sports
Still can’t draft QB. If he didn’t walk into Brady then he’d be fired at the moment

The Panthers are down 14 points but can't get pass happy because of their OL. Sad state of affairs.

Watson went to the hospital in his pads, took an x-ray, came back from the ambulance in the pads, and might return to the game. Not sure I have ever seen that before.

Golden is so good at getting open, catching only 1/3 of passes makes him a very productive WR

Jeremiah Smith and Charlie Becker are on their own tiers. But this WR draft class is pretty loaded after that! @davehelman_ and I roll through a dozen names.
2027 QB class 🤪
Who is WR3? ☁️

@dpbrugler and @davehelman_ discuss that and more on the latest episode of Building the Beast!

People are mad at Ashton Jeanty for the quote but he’s just setting up the play action pass through the media
Jets players declined to fire back, likely because they were instructed to keep quiet. But make no mistake, the quote made the rounds in the building.

Minkah Fitzpatrick: “Yeah, I mean, of course whenever our name is brought up, whether it be by an opponent or a past opponent, it catches our eye. But the way that I operate, I go out there and play 110% effort no matter who I'm playing against, no matter what they say.

"Obviously, certain things add a little more fuel to the fire, but at the end of the day, I have to go out there and do my job. I feel like most of the guys in this locker room operate in the same fashion.” #Jets

If six teams put in claims on a player you cut, you probably could have got value in a trade for the player.

Interesting how the league views the player differently than Las Vegas, as DT remains a need for the Raiders.
Sources: The #Jets, #Colts, #Patriots, #Dolphins and #Texans all put in claims for former #Raiders DT Jonah Laulu.

But the #Titans landed him because they had the highest waiver priority.

#Buccaneers GM Jason Licht. Not a trade deadline guy.
