#BREAKING Fort Bend County Tax Assessor-Collector Carmen Patrice Turner and two of her subordinates, Shemerrylyn Regina Fields and Victor Calvin Ewing, have been federally indicted for conspiracy, theft concerning federal program funds and wire fraud. Turner is accused of using ty payroll to pay Fields and Ewing to care for her elderly mother, among other duties, while on the county clock and instructing them to lie about it on their timesheets.

Two Houston-area residents have been indicted for allegedly submitting fraudulent financial documents to multiple mortgage lenders to help borrowers obtain loans they might not otherwise qualify for. Tammi Hunnicutt, 64, and Taylor Dickson, 33, are accused of submitting loan fied pay stubs, W-2 forms and bank statements to misrepresent borrowers’ employment and income to help them qualify for mortgage loans:

A federal prison inmate in Beaumont has been convicted in an investment fraud scheme. Riley Graham, 60, aka David Drake, while imprisoned at the low security correctional facility at the Bureau of Prisons Federal Correctional Complex defrauded a Beaumont pastor, his family, and arolina construction business, of over $1.4 million. The FBI is warning the public that scammers could exploit the 2026 U.S. Midterm Elections to carry out financial fraud schemes. Dozier is a former Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputy accused of threatening to arrest a woman unless she had sex with him. The second of eight individuals indicted for the March 2024 kidnapping for ransom in southeast Houston of several people has been sentenced. Elloy Figueroa Pedraza was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison. Last month, Jesus Salgado was sentenced to 15 years for his role in the rescued by the FBI's Hostage Rescue Team and FBI Houston SWAT during an April 2024 operation.

CAPTURED: After 29 years on the run, fugitive Rogelio Guerra Vasquez has been arrested in Mexico thanks to assistance by FBI Houston, FBI Mexico Legal Attaché office, and the Beaumont Police Department. A Houston family doctor has been arrested by FBI Houston after being federally indicted in connection to more than $20 million in fraudulent COVID-19-related Medicare claims. Dr. Joseph Montes was arrested and appeared in federal court this morning. He faces three federal charges.

Tekiyah McLeod, 34, of nLove Community Services LLC, has pleaded guilty to health care fraud and aggravated identity theft. McLeod admitted billing Medicaid over $477,000 for mental health therapy services that were never provided. She also used a nurse practitioner’s name and ifier to submit fraudulent claims without the practitioner’s knowledge or consent. FBI Houston investigated, with help from the Texas Attorney General’s Office – Medicaid Fraud Control Unit and the Virginia Office of the Attorney General – Medicaid Fraud Control Unit.

Highly specialized FBI Cyber Action Team (CAT) operators and @USCG personnel conducted joint offshore boardings of two foreign-flagged commercial vessels in the Gulf of America. CAT is the FBI’s rapid-response fly team, capable of deploying across the globe within hours to threats and attacks on critical services.

These boardings were conducted in August to ensure integrity of the vessel’s IT and OT systems following indications that both vessels’ networks had been compromised.

Commercial crews and shore-side staff were critical partners in helping to ensure the threats were mitigated. Currently, there are no reports of operational disruptions, vessel instability, physical danger to crews, or environmental impacts.

The @FBI and the Coast Guard commend the extensive cooperation from the impacted vessels and continue to encourage maritime partners to request cyber assistance.
