With AI agents moving more capital on their own, every second spent waiting on settlement is a disadvantage.
The edge will go to infrastructure that settles at machine speed.

Until recently, a slow leader could stall an Espresso block that already had the votes it needed. Not anymore.
Achieving subsecond finality meant redesigning HotShot, Espresso's consensus protocol, so each block finalizes inside its own view. Deep dive:

Getting Espresso to 1 million TPS meant rebuilding consensus, networking, block building, and data availability as one system, instead of tuning four separate ones.
Here’s a deep dive about how our engineers did it: medium.com/@espressosys/t…

Banks want the verifiability of public chains, but privacy rules they control.
Today at @lfdecentralized’s privacy workshop, @ellierdavidson explains why the future of onchain finance will be many specialized chains on a high-performance base layer.
In the room? Find her after.

MegaETH has a soft spot for teams that refuse to accept the usual tradeoffs.
Espresso's latest benchmark pairs enormous throughput with sub-second finality. No small feat.

Espresso mainnet can now handle up to 1 million transactions per second.
And finality stays under a second, even at that peak load.
How we did it, and why it matters ↓

New metric just dropped: TPC. Transactions per cup. Ours is 300 million.
@ditchthebanks @EspressoSys At 1M TPS, Espresso can process about 300 million transactions while you enjoy a 5-minute coffee—all with finality still under 1 second.

Why it matters: financial and enterprise apps need infrastructure that can handle their busiest days, and the larger transactions post-quantum signatures & built-in privacy proofs will require.
At 181 MB/s with subsecond finality, Espresso already does.

Faster settlement improves tokenized products, but distribution is the near-term growth lever.
Tokenization lets institutions reach stablecoin holders who wouldn't otherwise invest in products that only exist off-chain, says @benafisch.

Our stacked list of Co-Founders includes @benediktbuenz who has probably worked on something you’ve used in the blockchain space recently. Who knows Benedikt from his early days??
"I first came to the U.S. as an exchange student in high school. It wasn’t Silicon Valley or New York—just a tiny town in rural Michigan—but I loved the culture. People were optimistic, outgoing, and driven. That stuck with me. So when grad school gave me the opportunity to now been here over a decade.."

8 months ago, Espresso upgraded to fully decentralized proof-of-stake. The foundation, network security, and fee structure for a state-of-the-art blockchain.
Since then, we’ve maintained a permissionless network, worked with 100 validators staking $ESP, updated HotShot to r a second, and achieved enterprise-scale throughput.
We’re still building and there’s more to come.

Espresso’s Chief Product Officer never ceases to amaze. If you don’t already know @ellierdavidson, be sure to follow her for some big-brain content.
"I was a computer science major in college, and I needed one more elective to graduate. There was this blockchain class—great reviews, no clue what it was about—but I’d heard of Bitcoin, so I signed up. Dan Boneh and David Mazieres were the professors. I walked out of that class didn’t want to work on anything else. Crypto was it.."
