SF's District 8 supervisor race is getting weird. my opinion: McCoy should not only be ommited, he should drop out entirely. here's why. x.com/i/article/2105…

World of difference between those who do and those who complain. Last night's @salvationarmy's The Way Out Monster Smashburger fundraiser for the Culinary Training Academy was amazing. men and women leaving addiction behind to become the next gen of chefs. oh look, it's ll, "divisive" Steve Adami (SF's new recovery leader) greeting everyone, and @mattdorsey promoting it all. as for me, I have a serious burger hangover. @SusanDReynolds @TheVOSF

"Hope in San Francisco" is no longer a question mark. @DanielLurie appointed Steve Adami as Director of Recovery Services & Initiatives. I've known Steve for years and have mad respect for him. here's who Steve is, what he's done, and why we should all be celebrating. @Twolfrecovery @MHurabiell @Gina_McDee @garrytan city-journal.org/article/misdia…

Hot off the press! sure the masked "free Palestine" peeps added drama, but the Market St demo was most fascinating.
Residents want "a grocery store; The Gap and Banana Republic; Pet Food Express; Crate & Barrel; Pottery Barn; Sur La Table; theaters and venues; outlet stores; a bookstore; independent artist shops; and a roller-skating rink." anything but more smoke shops, liquor stores and payday lenders. Oh, and to open Market St to cars.

I’m obsessed with truth. Telling people prop G will close Sunset Dunes park is misleading at best. It’s a classic compromise- open during the weekend, closed during the week. I don’t care if you support it or not, but dishonesty/omitting facts is not ok. @SusanDReynolds

this rally was organized by SF politicians angry that a murderer was arrested by ICE. read my latest about hypocrisy, delusion, and grandstanding at City Hall.
I emailed every supervisor this morning asking for comment about Milton Ramos-Rodriguez. He is not in the US legally and -in addition to the voluntary manslaughter conviction- has a very serious record of other dangerous criminal offenses. so far, crickets.

When district 3 supervisor @DannySauter said, “We’re supposed to believe these people are dangerous and it's bullshit, absolute bullshit!” it really makes you wonder. are they stupid? or do they think we are stupid?
@SusanDReynolds is digging up more about Ramos-Rodriguez and king back afterward through scenes of lost battles. soldiers down. during the rally, not one word about the drug dealers (yes, most often here illegally from Honduras) who are killing people and communities. not ONE. I try to stay positive but its so damn hard sometimes.

Ro Khanna cannot walk back from this. He said it. He meant it. Destruction is what he wants. This man is toast.
From the high schools of France to the streets of Madrid to the universities of Tirana, young people are telling their governments the same thing: in an age of massive wealth inequality, they want a future they can believe in.
In France, students and teachers are asking for safe schools, enough teachers and smaller classes.
In Spain, for affordable rent and housing.
In Albania, for good jobs and an end to corruption.
@JDVance says this is what happens when a nation lets in too many immigrants from the global south.
He is not just morally wrong, but misreading the moment.
The is what happens when nations let wealth and power accumulate in the hands of a few.
This is what happens when young people lose hope in their future.
In America, let us listen to our young.
We need an economic and political transformation.
America's Next New Deal.

I believe @RoKhanna woke up this morning with a sick feeling in his stomach. "why did I write that? what is wrong with me? I could have kept it in private conversations, but nooo, I just had to take to X. f__k!"

$10 haircut and so much more. My dad was a haircutter and taught me the trade so I have this strange aversion to paying a lot for haircuts. $100 – $200 is common for a simple trim in San Francisco. I just can’t do it. So I gave this place a try and I’m so glad. Double the price ll a tremendous bargain.
Walking around Chinatown in the warm evening is always amazing, too. I was wondering where the gamblers from Portsmouth Square went while it’s being renovated. In the alleys.
And I may be in the minority, but I love a crowded 1 California. Even the bus stop was pretty last night.

BREAKING: The plea hearing for Troy McAlister is at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow (Wed. Oct. 14) and @SFDAOffice just reached out to Mrs. Abe at 2 a.m. Japan time asking for a Zoom that requires a translator. Nearly a week ago Mrs. Abe sent questions to be answered by email. The judge should postpone the hearing until Mrs. Abe gets the explanation she asked for.
