At least 30% of people with cardiovascular disease also have kidney disease, and vice versa. Assessing heart and kidney health together can create opportunities to detect CKD earlier.

That's why we welcome the Commission's proposal to include kidney function in EU cardiovascular Safe Hearts Plan. We urge the Council to adopt it at its December meeting and EU countries to put this integrated approach into practice.
