Halloween is a dying holiday. Every year, the amount of kids I see trick-or-treating keeps going down. Today, I only saw a handful of them AT MOST. And NONE of them knocked on my door. Between screen addiction and Karens, no one is gonna care about Oct 31st anymore.

@DesireeAmerica4 BS. I’m a dad who literally just got home from trick-or-treating with my kids. We went to a nearby neighborhood where some friends live, knocked on tons of doors, and experienced Halloween the same way generations before us did.
Traditional Halloween isn’t dead. People just love pretending everything good about the past is gone.
Trunk-or-treats exist. So what? Nobody is forcing you to attend them. You can still take your kids door-to-door and give them those same childhood memories.
Stop confusing nostalgia with reality. The traditions are still alive if you actually make the effort to participate in them.

@JihadalHaqq So this got even crazier. Apparently one of the people who started all of this was straight up charging people for fics which explains why they were mad about them being downloaded for free. So she was literally doing something illegal 🤣

ao3 protip i've been using: as long as you have the link to a fic, replace the "archiveofourown.org" part of the link with "ao3saver.com" (so including the string of numbers that comes with every fic url) and it'll pull up any archived versions of the fic
