Seattle cop Michael Griffin said he'd stop showing up after a store security guard asked to talk to his supervisor.
He was in the "proactive unit." That means he doesn't have to do anything. Griffin was previously suspended for being "proactive" about two DV calls. divestspd.com/p/you-dont-wan…

He tells the supervisor: "I think he grabbed my gun. I'm not 100% sure."
The "not 100% sure" is him trying to dodge a dishonesty beef if the video contradicts this (it did).
The man's left arm was folded in when the punches started.

Andrew Bryant claimed he started punching because he thought the man was grabbing at his gun holster. Bullshit.
Here's the bodycam audio synced with the original video. He doesn't tell the guy to stop "grabbing" until about 10-15 punches in. He's clearly referencing his arm.

Not a cop, but if the objective of the punches is to get him to roll over on his stomach, maybe give him a clear command and a break to respond?
He doesn't give a "roll over" command for about 45 seconds while pummeling him continuously.

The Seattle police are getting their very own robot dog.
The base package is $110,000, but the "fully loaded" cost is north of $300,000.

Auburn PD really spun this in a sick way.
They put out that Bryant and the suspect were both hospitalized for their injuries, implying there was a violent struggle.
Bryant had injuries to his hand from beating the man, who never struck Bryant.

Auburn PD isn't releasing this guy's name, but we'll get it.
Just like we found the six J6 officers.
Just like we found Kevin Dave's name
Just like we found the names of the cops who smothered Leon Davis
Just like we found the cops who knelt on Keenan Pearson's neck.

Also, in case you missed it, Brett Hamil and I talked about whether Wilson will veto the bill yesterday on @citycastseattle: seattle.citycast.fm/podcasts/could…
Advocates are calling on Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson to veto Councilmember Dan Strauss’ RV permit legislation, which will de facto banish most homeless RV and trailer residents from city limits, or force them to get rid of their vehicles. She has until Monday, Nov. 2 to do so.

His face and bloody hand appear in the bodycam video that Auburn PD released. The bodycam fell off. While another officer is handling it, the camera is pointing straight at him.

We've previously interacted with Bryant on Instagram. He defended convicted murderer Jeffrey Nelson, the Auburn police officer who killed Jesse Sarey.
Bryant said Nelson was the one he'd want responding if his family were in trouble. He called him a "good cop."

Guy who thinks recidivism wasn’t a problem in the 1980s—the peak of US crime—because cops were allowed to beat people’s asses
@DivestSPD I miss this kind of policing.
It was so much more therapeutic to get arrested back in the 70's and 80's. You truly didn't want to get arrested so you didn't reoffend.
Today? 80% of crimes are by people that reoffend.
Tell me what changed.
