BYU's pass defense was shredded. Jenkins was 25 of 41 for 293 yards and three touchdowns, escaping probably a dozen sacks because the Cougars couldn't tackle him. That was really the difference in the game, Jenkins playing like a Heisman candidate and BYU helpless to stop him.
