It was inspiring to watch the Artemis II launch yesterday — @NASA’s first crewed mission around the moon since 1972. Our space program has always captured an essential part of what it means to reach beyond what we thought was possible, and I hope the four brave astronauts on this new generation to follow in their footsteps.

♥️Scars tell stories. Some you can see. Others you carry silently.
In 2019, Daniela Machado went from neonatal nurse to intensive care patient after a severe infection led to emergency open-heart surgery. She spent 52 days in hospital, underwent a six-and-a-half-hour surgery, failure and dialysis.
Today, Daniela uses her experience to advocate for something often overlooked in cardiovascular care: the emotional and psychological impact of heart disease.
As Daniela reflects:
“Scars tell stories. Surgical scars, dialysis lines, procedural marks — they are visible reminders of survival. But there are also invisible scars: fear, grief, identity shifts, trauma.”
Through Global Heart Hub’s Patient Voices series, our Patient Affiliate Daniela shares her journey to remind us that recovery is not only physical — it is also emotional.

Ellen Johnson Sirleaf dreamt big. She was elected President of Liberia in 2005, becoming Africa’s first democratically elected female president and oversaw a reign of uninterrupted peace in Liberia for 12 years.
