Real-time lens tracing in three.js (WIP)
The jitter refinement now fixes the hard foreground edges most DOF effects have.
The lens here has a physical scale factor of 4.0 to exaggerate the effect. Next step is to clean up the code.

Real-time lens tracing experiment in three.js (WIP)
Turns out you can generate metric depth with a 40 MB model on the CPU in the browser in about 10 seconds. That's enough to drive the lens simulation, no 3D scene needed.
Might turn the 2D part into its own app.

You can now build your own lens - add or remove elements, set radii, spacing, IOR and more - and see what it does to the image as you drag the sliders.
...week or so till release

Anamorphic adapter and diffusion filter are in - shown here on a Leica Elmarit 90mm.
Everything runs on WebGL2, so it works on basically any device from the last decade.

Real-time lens tracing experiment in three.js, now working in 3D, with lots of lens presets to tweak: Leica, Zeiss, Nikon and more.
Releasing in a few days if all goes well.

Real-time lens tracing experiment in three.js (WIP).
This one's a 1973 Nikon wide-angle, US 3,731,989 - ten spherical surfaces.
Rays trace from the sensor through all five lens elements, then hit a 360° photo with a depth map. Every lens parameter is a slider.

Shall we play a game?
Tilted Earth Explorer now has a WarGames theme, which is probably the last feature I'm adding to this experiment..

Every world map is stretched somewhere. It doesn't have to be at the poles.
