At @BSEIndia, Mumbai, Shri Ashish Shelar, Hon'ble Minister for Information Technology, Government of Maharashtra rang the bell with our partners on stage to launch CSAM 2026. In theatre, the bell is the about to rise. Today, it marks the start of a month-long, pan-India campaign to make cyber safety part of everyday digital life.

This year's theme, #BeCyberStreetSmart, brings the timeless storytelling tradition of #Kathputli into the digital age. Just as scammers try to pull our strings through urgency, fear and familiarity, the campaign reminds everyone that the strings are ours to hold. Through screensavers, posters, infographics, videos, a booklet and a quiz, CSAM 2026 turns familiar digital situations into simple habits worth keeping.

#ArtificialIntelligence | Explore the brief on the Draft Guidelines on Use of Artificial Intelligence in Proceedings before the Trade Marks Registry.

In October 2026, the Office of The Controller General Of Patents, Designs And Trade Marks (O/o CGPDTM) released the Draft tificial Intelligence (AI) in Proceedings before the Trade Marks Registry. The Draft Guidelines were prepared pursuant to the Delhi High Court’s order in Stryten Energy LLC v Nidhi Agarwal & Ors.

The Draft Guidelines address the use, abuse, and misuse of AI-generated pleadings and representations, particularly instances involving false, fake, or non-existent case law cited in proceedings before the Registrar of Trade Marks. They seek to establish safeguards for the responsible use of AI-generated material in trade mark proceedings.

This brief summarises the key provisions of the Draft Guidelines, their stated rationale, and what they mean for legal practitioners and other stakeholders appearing before the Trade Marks Registry.

If it looks even slightly off, don’t click anything. When in doubt, open your bank’s official app or website yourself, or call them on a number you already have.
