We appreciate Palm Beach County voters for renewing the 1 Mill for Schools on the November 3 general election ballot.

“Thank you, Palm Beach County, for your strong support of our public schools,” said Superintendent Mike Burke. “For the third time since 2018, our community has teachers, our students, and the safety of our schools. We do not take that trust for granted.”

We will once again be able to do more for our teachers and students than state funding provides. Since 2018, the 1 Mill for Schools funding has provided more than 900 arts, music, physical education, career, and choice program teacher jobs, boosted teacher pay by an average of $8,000 a year, and provided additional school safety and security measures on every campus.

The renewal of the 1 Mill for Schools continues the existing 1 mill property tax through June 30, 2031. It is not a new tax.
