Nice to see Chief of the Memphis Police Department, Cerelyn Davis, at the MCCA and PERF Town Hall. Enjoyed her presentation about dealing with the large influx of Federal agencies sent to her city to help with crime issues.

Replacing LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell would be a reckless and deeply destabilizing move. Jim is one of the most seasoned police professionals in America, with the experience and collaborative skills Los Angeles needs at the helm of its police department. At a time when LAPD is s staffing shortage, and with the 2028 Olympics less than two years away, political upheaval could push even more officers out the door. nypost.com/2026/10/20/us-…

NYPD Detective Randolph Holder lived a life of significance—a life that mattered. Killed 11 years ago by an armed criminal, Randy and his partner didn't hesitate for a moment as they ran toward the danger on behalf of the people they proudly served. Why? Because as cops, #ItsWhatWeDo.

Together we will #NeverForget.

I wanted to share an interesting article by Malcolm Gladwell, entitled “America Has a Policing Shortage,” in the Atlantic.

An inconvenient truth! The unofficial motto of the LAPD during the time I served as Chief, according to the current Chief Jim McDonnell, was “too few who asked to do too much with too little.” Even the NYPD with 35,000 officers is understaffed by thousands. To have equivalent staffing to the NYPD, LAPD would need 18,000. McDonnell is doing a fantastic job with 8400, I had 9200 when I lead the LAPD. theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/10/…

It was great to see my incredibly talented wife, @rikkijklieman, on @CBSMornings, breaking down the latest developments in the O.J. Simpson case.

From covering the original trial as a @CourtTV anchor to analyzing some of the nation’s biggest cases for CBS, Rikki has helped millions of viewers separate fact from fiction. Few legal analysts can deliver the insight and clarity to every case that she provides. x.com/CBSMornings/st…

Chief McDonnell, my friend and colleague for over 40 years, including the seven years we worked closely together at the LAPD, has been in the face of significant adversity and hostility from the Progressive Left. He has been doing an outstanding job leading the much reduced in ed continuous crises over the last several years. Replacing him before the end of his term would create additional crises of monumental proportions.

It is heavily rumored that mayoral candidate Nithya Raman’s choice to replace McDonnell would be the recently defeated progressive left LA District Attorney George Gascon.

Releasing another man convicted in the assassination of NYPD Officer Eddie Byrne would be an unconscionable decision—and a profound betrayal of Officer Byrne, his family, and every law enforcement officer who puts their life on the line.

I strongly urge the New York State Parole lary behind bars, where cop-killers belong. Releasing him would once again send a disgraceful message: that the lives of police officers count for less than the freedom of the people convicted of murdering them. They don’t. Eddie Byrne’s sacrifice—and the safety of those who continue his work—deserve far more respect and justice.

Send a letter to the parole board here: nycpba.org/keep-cop-kille…

I wanted to share some photos of happy times with my great friend and colleague, the late First Grade NYPD Detective Jimmy Motto, who I first met in 1994 when he was assigned to my security detail by Lt. Greg Longworth.

It was the beginning of a close 30-year friendship until elated cancer. A wonderful friend, family man, and great cop. I'm so glad he passed my way.
A wonderful memorial and remembrance of a wonderful guy and a great detective. He had a life and career of significance.

A wonderful memorial and remembrance of a wonderful guy and a great detective. He had a life and career of significance.
Retired Detective James Motto of the Drug Enforcement Task Force gave his life in service to others, succumbing to an illness related to the September 11 attacks. His name was added to the memorial wall at the Drug Enforcement Administration’s New York office—a lasting tribute to ce.

The Detectives’ Endowment Association stands with his wife and children in honoring his memory. Borough Director Antonio Esposito and Headquarters Trustee Daryl Harris proudly attended on behalf of the union. We thank U.S. Attorney General Todd Blanche for joining the family and the DEA in this solemn tribute. We will #NeverForget.

Great editorial in the Wall Street Journal. They are correct that Tisch and Mamdani need each other’s support, but Mamdani and the City at this time need her more than she needs him and his far left supporters. She and the NYPD are the last line of defense against the anarchy th the Right and the Left.

Kudos to @amNewYork for this editorial and defense of the NYPD and the highwire walk the department has to navigate dealing with the immigration issue, as well as their justified criticism of far left politicians and their ‘silly, ignorant, and disgraceful’ attacks on the men and women of the NYPD—many of whom are immigrants themselves.
