EMU/Akron recap:

Offensive player of the game: Rudy Kessinger.

Eastern’s kicker being better than Akron’s ended up being the difference. Kessinger was 4-4 on field goals and 1 for 1 on extra points. He scored 13 of EMU’s 25 points, including the game winning 48 yard field goal with just 1:50 left in the 4th.

Defensive player of the game- I am going with Quincy Byas as my defensive player of the game. 7 tackles, 2.5 for a loss and 2 sacks. Also deflected a pass. It wasn’t the best day for the defense but Akron is well coached and schemed well. The defense adjusted during the game.

Also another shout out to Daniel Hull for going 2-2 on puts downed inside the ten yard line.

Play of the game- Rudy Kessinger’s 48 yard field goal with a 1:50 to play which served as the game winning score. Could also pick Akron’s corresponding miss or Eastern blocking a punt.
