I spent the last few days speaking with college coaches at all levels and divisions. ALL of them to a man said the same thing: "The 2027 and 2028 classes are going to carry the heaviest load from all these changes. The real winners in this current landscape are JUCO programs. The talent is going to need to find a home. Starting in 2029 , all of that JUCO Talent is going to be in demand!" Message, find a spot where you can play and a good fit!

Youth baseball arm care routine, start here. Pitch Smart says don't catch on days you aren't pitching, and don't pitch for two teams at the same time. As a dad and a former college head coach, I'd guard those two rules before I ever looked at a radar gun.

I’ve spent much of my life watching people succeed, fail, overcome adversity, and chase something bigger than themselves. And the older I get, the more convinced I am that what separates people isn’t always talent, opportunity, or circumstance.
It’s what they choose to do when things don’t go their way.
Do they make excuses or take responsibility? Do they retreat or find a way forward? Do they allow disappointment to define them, or use it to become better?
Life has taught me that discipline matters more than motivation, perseverance matters more than perfection, and faith becomes especially important when the answers aren’t clear.
We don’t get to control every outcome. But we do get to decide how we respond, who we become, and what we give to the people counting on us.
Your past may explain where you are, but it doesn’t have to determine where you’re going.
That decision belongs to you.

College baseball decommitments explained: roster limits, a 20-round draft, and the transfer portal changed the math. Dads, before your son commits, ask the coach directly what the roster plan is for his year. Go where he is wanted.

A JUCO year is a college year on the eligibility clock.
In D1 and D2, full-time junior college starts his five-year window. Two JUCO years leaves up to three at a four-year school.
Worth it for the right player. Just plan it with his birth date in hand.

Families spend a lot on camps, but few players are told the truth. Scouting starts in warm ups. My son learned that at a Coastal Carolina camp. I've watched coaches walk up to him while he was stretching and playing catch. How you warm up is your first impression.

JUCO to D1 transfer rules changed in June.
The transferable GPA is now 2.0, not 2.5. A qualifier out of high school needs one full-time semester at the two-year college.
One catch in baseball: transfer in January and he sits that spring.
Ask compliance in writing.
