Follow the bottleneck.

AI's constraint keeps moving — chips in 2023–24, power in 2025, capital in 2026. We track where it goes next: the physical economy behind AI, and what breaks first.

Every week: a newsletter of the sharpest quotes from earnings calls.

AI is making intelligence cheaper.

But cheap intelligence doesn't automatically create wealth.

The real advantage belongs to people who can turn intelligence into action.

Ideas are everywhere.

Execution is still rare.

And distribution may be the ultimate bottleneck.

Lam Research just posted record revenue of $8,219,000,000, up 54.4% YoY, and guided Q4 to $8,600,000,000. $LRCX Nobody asks when the chip shortage ends anymore. They ask how fast the fabs can take the tools.

Besi just booked €342,600,000 in Q3 orders, up 96% YoY on AI data-center demand, with hybrid-bonding tool orders already topping 2x all of 2025. $BESI Packaging equipment stopped being the lagging indicator.

Taiwan's first semiconductor strike is 11 union officials at Micron's Taoyuan gate, with no output hit reported. Yesterday Micron settled with Taichung, the HBM site, on undisclosed terms, and Taoyuan was not in the room.

The fight is no longer about the bonus. It is about a deal one union signed and the other cannot see.

Meta raised its 2026 capex floor to $135 billion, and free cash flow just went negative for the first time since its IPO. So it created a new class of non-voting stock, effective January 2027, so AI spending never dilutes Zuckerberg's control.

The buildout outgrew the cash cow. The funding now comes from shares that carry no vote.

TI's data-center revenue just grew 95% YoY to ~13% of total sales, as Q3 revenue of $6.06B beat and industrial revenue rose 40% past its 2022 peak. The analog side of the AI rack is quietly outgrowing the headlines.

~10,000 generic TI part numbers are now inside data centers, growing every quarter. The power-management layer of AI is a volume game, not a flagship game.

Micron's CTO just called rival 4F² DRAM "fundamentally flawed" — 20 years of research, then abandoned: no density edge over 6F². Same call: HBM4 in high-volume production, vertical HBM at 2.8TB/s, 1-delta DRAM and G11 NAND ramping H2 2027.

The memory war isn't about who builds faster. It's about who bet on the right cell.

Nvidia's new DSX POD is a full Vera Rubin AI factory built in a factory — containers arrive pre-wired, pre-cooled, pre-tested. Plug it into power and it's running in as little as 14 days, not six months.

Nvidia stopped selling chips. Now it sells time.

Huang's math on stage: a 1GW AI factory pulls ~$40B a year in revenue, so three months of construction delay burns $10B. Hence the container.

Trump's line on data centers today: build your own power, feed the surplus back to the grid — and pay the community a "dividend."

Data centers are about to negotiate like utilities. Because they are.

The "dividend" framing is the key: electricity access is becoming a local political negotiation, not just a procurement line.

NextDC crashed 41.7% today to its lowest since 2018 — and cut FY27 guidance by more than a third. The power for its M3 Melbourne data center now won't arrive until FY28.

The grid isn't short on electricity. It's short on permission.

SK hynix is heading for its most profitable quarter ever, yet its HBM4 shipments fell short — TrendForce says Rubin's ramp is slipping into 2027 on low HBM4 yields. Samsung's HBM revenue share jumped from 21% to 33% in a single quarter while SK hynix slid from 58% to 50%.

The memory shortage was never about who owns the fabs. It's about who can yield the stack.

LS Securities just cut SK hynix's 2027 HBM operating margin forecast from 80% to 60%.
Record profits today, margin compression tomorrow — that's what losing the yield race looks like.

Anthropic is in talks for a second $45B compute deal with Nscale — 460MW of Vera Rubin chips at its West Virginia Monarch campus, doubling the $45B lease it signed in August.

Even as its own investors push for a lower IPO valuation, Anthropic keeps signing: the demand side was never the problem. The money is.

Same Nscale, two directions in one week: Microsoft walked away from its UK campus over grid delays. Anthropic is doubling its bet anyway.

TSMC confirmed its second Japan fab will produce 3nm — over $23B in equipment, ramping in phases with demand.

Three pins on the leading-edge map now: Taiwan, Arizona, Kumamoto.
