New York City Mayor Eric Adams is on Capitol Hill today.

He tells me about Zohran Mamdani announcing he’s moving into Gracie Mansion:

“Beware of the ghost. I told [Zohran] about it. So the ghost is there. It's a friendly ghost, as long as you're doing right by the city. If you he city, he turns into a poltergeist.”

NEW🚨📺: I asked Bernie Sanders if his bill that would sentence people to up to 20 years in prison for breaking AI rules is “extreme.”

"If that violation results in the possibility of millions of people dying, do you think that's really terribly radical?" @BernieSanders told me.

NEW: Leader Chuck Schumer tells me he personally urged Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang not to sell advanced AI chips to China during a meeting 8 or 9 months ago.

“I said, you know, you can make more profits. You want to make profits, don’t sell to China. You got plenty of markets to ot as dangerous.”

Schumer says Huang responded that “it’s ideological to sell these chips anywhere who wants to buy them.”

“That made no sense,” @SenSchumer said.

@SenWarren adds Huang has been invited to speak to the Banking Committee but “refused,” saying he would “rather” go to the White House and lobby President Trump to make sure “the profits of Nvidia are boosted,” even if China gets frontier AI chips.
NEW: NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang tells me the U.S. needs "open weights" to keep its AI edge, calling them essential for American industry, security, safety, and innovation.

Huang also says winning the AI race depends on how quickly U.S. companies adopt the technology.

Just asked Sen. Martin Heinrich — who objected to Husted’s unanimous consent request — about Sen. Bernie Moreno’s claim that the objection was politically motivated as Husted faces a competitive reelection race:

Heinrich: “My issue has been the same since I introduced that legislation,” told me, brushing off the 417-3 vote in the House.

“If voluntary worked, we’d already be there,” Heinrich said, arguing data centers should be *required* to pay for the costs they impose on consumers.
The House passed my Ratepayer Protection Act 417-3, displaying overwhelming bipartisan support.

I just brought it up for passage in the Senate, asking my colleagues to stand up for Americans and help lower costs for hardworking families like the House just did—and Senate Democrats blocked it.

Senate Democrats want Big Tech to get a free pass while your electric bill goes up.

Is the AI debate getting a little too “doomer-ish”?

I asked Sen. Tim Kaine ⬇️📺:

“Look, the people who are the greatest innovators and creators in the world in the AI space are warning us of serious danger.

“So shame on us if we don't listen to them. I don't know what to take seriously the risk.”

🚨 SEN. ELIZABETH WARREN responds to Sen. Tim Scott telling @FoxBusiness that Democrats “are never going to vote for” crypto legislation:

“He’s wrong. Of course I would vote for crypto legislation…but not [the Clarity Act] that puts our national security at risk or that r economy.”
Chairman @SenatorTimScott to @RiggsReport: “Rules of the road matter today.”

Senate Banking Committee Chairman Tim Scott told @FoxBusiness how the Clarity Act will protect Americans’ hard-earned money, keep innovation in the United States, and strengthen our national security.

NEW: I asked Sen. Bernie Sanders whether the rise of Democratic Socialist candidates could hurt Democrats politically in November.

"No," Sanders replied. "The American people are disgusted with an economic system in which one guy on top - Elon Musk - owns more wealth than the society."

He added: "They're tired of a corrupt political system in which billionaires buy elections. They want change."
