@JetBrainsRider Is there a way to reduce autocomplete to focusing only on own (my) code? What about limiting it to only my code and the includes in the current file? Other ways to make autocomplete more focused/tighter to what I'm doing?

CC @maartenballiauw is the above even a thing, or something only I want/desire/need?

@bgolus TMP_SDF.shader calls a function in TMPro.cginc, passing 2 values, and the TMPPRO function somehow uses a variable of TMP_SDF, that's not passed to it. How is it that a function in TMPro.cginc is able to access a variable inside TMP_SDF.shader without reference/ #include ?

Sorry for the (quite probably very stupid question), have been trying to figure out and mod a few of the SDF/TMP shaders, with little to no knowledge of shaders. First foray into shaders, and into SDF. All very confusing, and confused.

@AleixEspargaro Get some focus from a production company with super slow motion cameras on your racing and qualifying, at crucial corners. From this casual observers position, it's been clear for years that you're compensating for your bike's lack of prowess with extreme riding.

Unfortunately, your riding is not rewarded with enough quality footage by TV or Dorna. So pay some folks to film you to show the world just how extreme your approach is. Or just keep the footage for your kids when older so they know your results were only part of the game.

Collisions callbacks are sent to attached scripts even when that script is not enabled.

You can enable = true OnCollision for only that script on that object.

This is an amazingly liberating way to use Unity, so long as you remember to set enable = false; once done!

"Free trade" policies and the exporting, outsourcing and offshoring of all significant manufacturing and even service provision (call centres etc) were the other part of this enormous culling of small to medium (and often large but local) businesses within just about all nations.

For best Unity GPU perf on a Mac:

Open Affinity Designer (AD) file, draw boxes with gradients.

Open Unity, leave AD open.

Presume an AD bug is constantly pegging GPU, causing MacOS to cleanup Unity & AD usage of GPU RAM, this fixes Unity performance, considerably.

Make a GameGenesis object & same name script on it.

Project Settings > Script Execution Order, set this at -50.

Use this to start anything you need to be sure occurs before other things.

DO NOT PUT YOUR GAME MANAGER SCRIPT ON, nor under, THIS OBJECT.

Safely Start!

AudioSource Components are FICKLE!

If you turn off an object to move that's got AudioSource components, having moved it you reactivate it and then attempt to play those audio sources -- they won't play.

VERY Annoying when using pooled objects for SFX and VFX

Text Mesh Pro Character Design Tips:

Make gradients from White to Alpha - in your fav bitmap editor

Put Gradients into Face & Outline Texture Slots

Twiddle colours, sliders AND Tiling & Offset values

NOTE: Face Texture, Offsets & Tiling influence Lighting & Glow!

This needs updating:

Until you grok how Text Mesh Pro works, ONLY use white to alpha gradient textures. Otherwise you'll have just another level of weirdness to deal with, and TMP tinting won't make any sense and/or be very difficult to grok.

TextMeshPro is NOT production ready

2019.4LTS latest version
TMP latest version validated, approved & verified etc

Trying to make a "font" on a Mac results in 4x:

"Metal: Fragment shader missing texture binding at index 0(_MainTex/Hidden/Preview Alpha)"

TextMeshPro is NOT production ready (part 2)

Accessing a newly created font spams console with many warnings.

Attempting to generate a font atlas fails, and generates more warnings.

This system is maintained by just one guy. It is the only font renderer in Unity.

TextMeshPro is NOT production ready (part 3)

TMP Text is rendered very differently on different resolutions on the same device, and very differently on different devices at the same resolution.

You'll need to do a LOT of #if and fiddling to make it look consistent.
