Seriously the second problem is a far too bloated welfare state. People need to support themselves. In Hong Kong there is little welfare but the maximum tax rate is 17% and there is no national insurance either; a great incentive to work.

@EduadoGasket I suspect most people would accept less state support if it meant keeping considerably more of their own income.
