A new pipeline means new opportunity for Alberta — and good jobs for the people who make our energy industry possible.
This is what getting major projects built looks like. Let’s get to work.

Alberta’s energy industry has been held back by a lack of access to global markets for too long.
Pacific Link is another major step toward changing that.

Snow is on the way! ❄️
Fort McMurray could see up to 15 cm of snow over the next couple of days.
Please give yourself some extra time on the roads, drive for the conditions and stay safe out there.
Winter is officially making its return!

More pipelines mean more opportunities for our oilsands.
ATB Chief Economist Mark Parsons says new pipeline capacity “clears the way for oilsands producers to invest in expansions and new greenfield projects.”
More investment. More growth. More opportunity for Alberta.

A reminder for residents as winter approaches! ❄️
The RMWB now has a formal Rural Snow and Ice Control Policy, with clear timelines for plowing, snow removal and driveway windrows.
Residents are responsible for clearing driveway windrows under 15 cm and sidewalks next to their s.
Good information to know before the snow really starts flying!

Canada’s next major economic boom could be built right here in Alberta’s oilsands.
A new RBC report estimates that proposed pipelines, LNG facilities, oilsands expansions and carbon capture projects could generate more than $200 billion in construction through 2040.
The numbers show just how significant this opportunity could be:
• Canadian oil production could grow by nearly 2 million barrels per day by 2040.
• Natural gas production could nearly double.
• Canada’s oil and gas GDP could increase by approximately $44 billion annually.
• Alberta alone could account for $29 billion of that growth.
• Alberta could gain approximately 52,100 permanent oil and gas production jobs.
For Fort McMurray-Lac la Biche, this represents enormous potential for skilled trades, local businesses, Indigenous partners and the thousands of families whose livelihoods are connected to our energy industry.

Global demand for oil isn’t going away — it’s growing.
OPEC is forecasting world oil demand will rise by 2.6 million barrels per day in 2027, bringing total consumption to 108.3 million barrels per day.
Canada is expected to help meet that demand.
The world needs more energy. es, expertise and workforce to provide it.
Fort McMurray and Lac la Biche can lead the way.

An important message from our Premier
I hope every UCP member and supporter will watch this video.
The referendum is behind us. Albertans gave their answers and our party must honour that mandate.
What comes next is the only fight that matters, and it is twelve months away.
Naheed Nenshi's NDP have told us do with power:
🟠 Reopen the drug consumption sites we closed
🟠 Let minors undergo irreversible gender surgeries without their parents' knowledge.
🟠 Shut down school choice.
🟠 Bring back the production cap and the net zero regulations to phase out our energy sector.
🟠 Open border immigration.
🟠 A carbon tax.
🟠 And Avi Lewis in Ottawa pulling Nenshi’s strings.
United, our party will win. Divided the NDP wins and all Albertas would suffer as a result.
The time for division is over.
The time to unite and fight for a stronger Alberta and Canada is now.

Our Premier with an important address to the province
Today I spoke directly to Albertans following yesterday’s referendum vote.
Alberta will remain in Canada, and for as long as I serve as premier, there will not be another referendum on the issue of separation.
I’m also pleased that Albertans also gave our government a mandate over immigration, to ensure temporary residents pay their share of the services they use and to require proof of citizenship to vote. Those reforms are coming, and they will strengthen Alberta’s autonomy.
Now is the time to move forward not as a people divided by how we voted yesterday, but as neighbours, friends, Albertans and Canadians.
Together, we will keep Alberta and Canada forever strong and free.

Alberta's future is bright. We will always put Albertans and our economy first. We are committed to strengthening our position within Canada.
Thank you, Alberta!
I’m very pleased to see the initial results from Elections Alberta show widespread support for remaining in Canada. Albertans have voted for a stronger Alberta in a united Canada.
Thank you to all Albertans who took time to vote on these critically important Tomorrow evening, October 20, I will address Albertans live at 6:45 p.m. to discuss the results of all referendum questions for which results are available, and where our province goes from here.

Keeping all of our military personnel, their families and first responders in my thoughts and prayers in the wake of this tragic incident at CFB Wainwright on Saturday.
Alberta is mourning alongside the Canadian Armed Forces and the families, friends and colleagues of those affected by the tragic incident at Canadian Forces Base Wainwright yesterday.
The loss of life and injuries are heartbreaking. On behalf of the Government of Alberta, I lences to the families who have lost loved ones and wish those who have been injured a full recovery. Our thoughts are also with the military personnel, families and colleagues facing uncertainty and grief during this incredibly difficult time.
We are deeply grateful to the first responders, paramedics, physicians, nurses and hospital teams across Alberta who have mobilized to provide care to those injured. Albertans should all be incredibly proud of their frontline health care workers and our acute care system that has managed this mass casualty event. We’re also thankful to our neighbours in Saskatchewan who did not hesitate to support our response with additional air ambulance capacity, and to other provinces who have reached out offering their support and condolences.
I will be traveling to Edmonton today to meet with provincial ministers and federal officials. The Government of Alberta continues to work closely with the federal government and local authorities. We have convened our Emergency Management Cabinet Coordination Committee and the Provincial Emergency Coordination Centre (PECC) has been activated to a level 3.
As a mark of respect for those who have lost their lives and in solidarity with the military community and their families, flags at provincial government buildings across Alberta will be lowered to half-mast.
In the days ahead, our thoughts will remain with everyone affected by this tragedy. Alberta stands with the Canadian Armed Forces, the people of Wainwright and all those grieving during this difficult time.

There’s growing confidence in Canadian energy heading into 2027.
A new ATB Cormark survey found:
📈 96% of oil and gas producers expect to increase production
📈 90% of energy services executives expect activity to increase next year
📈 56% of producers expect to increase ment spending
📈 78% of institutional investors believe Canadian energy stocks are undervalued
📈 79% of investors say disruptions to Middle Eastern energy exports have made them more likely to invest in Canadian energy
This is an enormous opportunity for Alberta.
With projects like Pacific Link opening new markets and industry preparing to invest, grow and produce more, we have an opportunity to make Alberta an even stronger global energy supplier.

Great news for every Albertan!
Alberta closed the books on 2025-26 with a $2.2 billion surplus and the Heritage Savings Trust Fund finished the year at a record high of more than $32 billion.
We delivered that surplus in the same year we cut personal income taxes with a new 8% bracket, the lowest in the $750 back in the pocket of every Albertan and up to $1,500 back with the average family.
The Heritage Fund is on track to reach $35 billion in 2027 and $250 billion by 2050. Every dollar of income stays in and compounds. That is a promise to Albertans who come next and keeping it is one of the most important things this government will ever do.

ATCO broke ground on the Yellowhead Pipeline — another major investment in Alberta’s energy future.
The project will add more than 1 billion cubic feet per day of natural gas delivery capacity, create approximately 2,000 construction jobs and help enable more than $20 billion in This is what confidence in Alberta looks like: building the infrastructure we need to grow our energy sector, attract new investment and create good jobs for Albertans.
Premier Danielle Smith and I issued a joint statement on this important milestone and what it means for Alberta’s economic and energy future.
