Three of my favorite papers published this week:
1. A mechanism for bacteria to create *new* repetitive toxic genes to kill themselves in response to infection (!!)

Had a great time at #Cytokines2023 @CytokineSociety in Athens presenting my work from the Brodsky lab on Yersinia infection and cell death! 🇬🇷
Congrats @RonitSchwartz99 on presenting your studies on Casp8->Casp1 activation in response to Yersinia @CytokineSociety #Cytokines2023! So proud of your hard work &efforts on this project! Sorry I can't be there but looks like a great meeting as always @KingOfPathogens!

B. subtilis is the microbe of the year. I was today years old when I learned that B.subtilis is added to the flush water of toilets in German rest areas. Once the germinate, they oust pathogens. Very cool! #vaam2023

SUPER interesting micro seminar by @ileanacristea @PrincetonMolBio. Recalled fond memories from my time in the @KornmannLab studying ERMES. Goes to show how beautifully fundamental cell bio research and infectious diseases mix! @PennMicro #hostpathogen #viruses #contactsites 🤯

This review is fantastic!
The 'functional paralipidomes' hypothesis can explain many phenomena of the protein-plasma membrane interactions via a physics perspective.
Also, super inspiring for molecular engineers. It is impossible to hear the "urgent call". Just on time!

Proud (and bit nervous) to share our (Ed Lyman+me) thoughts how membrane proteins are regulated by their #lipidtime nano-environments out now in @NatRevMCB
We suggest a generalizable concept for protein-lipid interactions: the 'functional paralipidome'
