There's a base behind you, and a shell only has to reach it once. Kill count stops mattering at that point.
So the first thing anyone learns is which walls are worth standing behind. Bricks come apart under fire, steel u left open two minutes ago is the one they come through.
By the end of a round the map looks nothing like the one you started on. That's the part we spent the most time on, because the terrain is what balances the fight.
