As Houthi military advances inside Yemen stall, the group has stepped up its cross-border attacks against Saudi Arabia. The Saudi-led coalition reports intercepting and destroying 10 ballistic missiles launched by the Houthis toward southern regions.

A New Houthi Information Operation Campaign Built Around "وذلحين" [Dhal Heen]

The Houthis are increasingly using the Yemeni Arabic expression وذلحين, roughly translated as “How about now?” or “What about now?”, as a form of psychological warfare and online mockery directed at their adversaries.

The phrase is used to taunt opponents who have dismissed Houthi threats, predicted military setbacks, or questioned the group’s capabilities. Whenever the Houthis claim a battlefield success or carry out a previously threatened attack, supporters respond with وذلحين as a way of saying, “What do you have to say now?”

After a rapid advance across western Yemen it appears the Houthis have been stopped....for now. To help us break this all down, we’re joined today, once again by @BashaReport, a middle east analyst and the founder of Basha Report Risk Advisory.

Without explicitly naming Abdulmalik al-Houthi, former Houthi Supreme Revolutionary Committee member @Malmakaleh1 issued a warning over the offensive against Taiz city.

“I know you are capable of storming its gates, but you will carve your way through blood, torn bodies, and endless hatred.”

He warned that the Houthis would gain nothing but “millions of people who do not want you” and who would demand that the movement address their suffering, despite its inability to provide “the bare minimum of livelihoods and salaries.”

Al-Makaleh criticized the leadership’s reliance on military force, describing it as “the arrogance of excessive power and violence.”

He argued that before advancing on Taiz, the leadership should have abandoned “the burdens of guardianship and divine rule” and sought “common national ground among Yemenis.”

He ended with a pointed question.

“And what comes next?”

Taiz residents struggle to access basic resources, such as gas and water, as the Houthi-imposed sieged on their city has caused severe shortages.
"If the city remains in this situation, it will collapse from within... We are on our last breath," said a resident.

After months of assuring southerners they would not attack South Yemen, the Houthis’ intentions are now clear. Yemen’s Interior Ministry reports three ballistic missiles targeting Coast Guard facilities in Aden. Video reportedly shows the launch from Al-Arayif base in Ibb.

One of the many reasons the Houthis are stepping up attacks against Saudi Arabia seeking billions in compensations 👇

In 2014, the Houthis mobilized protests in Sana’a against a 500-rial fuel price increase, using public anger over fuel subsidies to justify their uprising rnment.

At the time, a 20-liter container of gasoline reportedly cost 4,000 rials, rising to 4,500. The Houthis portrayed the increase as unacceptable and used it to rally support against the government.

Fast forward to 2026. Just six weeks ago, gasoline prices in Houthi-controlled areas reportedly increased by another 1,000 rials, from 9,500 to 10,500. Now, the latest rumored price is 11,400 rials for gasoline and 13,000 for diesel.

That puts gasoline at nearly three times its reported 2014 price before the Houthis armed takeover of Sana’a.

Amid heavy reported battlefield losses in the latest round of fighting, the Houthis are working overtime to recruit more fighters.

This video from northern Yemen shows a Houthi recruitment station set up outside a mosque after Friday prayers, seeking men to send to the front . Army setting up a recruitment booth outside a church immediately after Sunday services. That’s essentially what we’re seeing here.
