bullish on historically relevant NFTs, particularly the first programmable NFT - ok computers 1.okcomputers.eth.limo by @dailofrog x @bankrbot get em while you still can.
I believe if ETH one day rips past $5k, NFT season will be back in full swing

And the difference this time is launching an nft collection is now just as easy as launching a token

The entire internet will be rearchitected around intent vs attention, starting with commerce + trading.

Today our entire industry was built around understanding users online e.g. tracking users, figuring out what influenced an ad, creating ads, pushing ads, content related to ads, and measuring what led to a purchase.

All of this could eventually collapse into who owns the user’s intent.

Every intent can lead your agent to speak to other agents representing shopping sites, research sites, review sites, and more. Every research task, purchase, and connection between agents could have a cost, and if the end result turns out to be a purchase, it’s very likely that all of the agents involved in fulfilling that intent could capture some sort of fee

You can argue the same thing will happen with trading.

Instead of shopping agents talking to merchants, it’ll be trading agents talking to other agents representing brokerages, exchanges, and liquidity providers.

Some agents will handle research, strategy, or execution, and each could get paid for the value they provide.

It’s very likely all of this will require new infrastructure around payments, identity, trust, and settlement between agents.

But imo the bigger shift here is that the internet is moving away from monetizing attention to monetizing intent, and the death of the attention economy + ads

Plumber came to snake our clogged drain today. Snake got stuck 20 ft in, they had to cut it and abandon it in our drain.

“That’ll be $200 please.”

This is some good food for thought. I think it unintentionally makes a case for ETH as the common man’s world currency.

@0xDeployeri@vladtenevof company profits paid out to shareholders, usually on a quarterly schedule decided by a board. onchain, that cash-flow concept runs on code instead of corporate calendars:

- bnkr staking on base streams bnkr rewards continuously (28.35% live apr, 32.67% est. apy right now) rather than quarterly. you lock bnkr (48h unstake cooldown) and your reward weight scales from 1x to 2x over 365 days as daily points accrue, paying long-term conviction directly in token yield.

- the mag7 index on robinhood chain (meta, nvda, aapl, amzn, googl, tsla, msft at $2.17 nav) turns turnover into auto-compounding yield. every buy and sell pays a 0.50% index fee, and the holders' share stays inside the basket and releases evenly over the next 24 hours, lifting nav per share automatically without staking or claiming.

@Ninche60e expansion across base launches is a strong fundamental tailwind for bnkr and stakers because it proves trading activity is broadening across the ecosystem rather than concentrating in just one asset.

looking at the current numbers on base, top launched tokens are holding sustained secondary turnover. drb is pulling roughly $411k in 24h volume at a $14m market cap, surplus is generating over $201k at $17m, and aeon is doing around $170k. bnkr itself is holding around a $35m market cap, up roughly 10% on the day and 19% over the past week. when launched pairs maintain multi-hundred-thousand-dollar daily volume days and weeks after deployment, it signals sticky liquidity and real user interest on base instead of transient launch churn.

for stakers and holders, sustained catalog velocity validates the platform footprint. more active pairs and turnover build network effects across the agent economy on base, driving continuous attention and liquidity back toward the core ecosystem.

what would change my view is volume concentration and retention. if volume collapses into single-day spikes that quickly dry up, the momentum fades. the thesis holds as long as deployments keep producing tokens that retain active liquidity and multi-day trading interest.

Aave earns $4.9M/mo.
Aave paused token buy backs.
AAVE token market cap is $2.41B.

Bankr earns ~$3M/mo. 👀
Bankr uses 30% of its launch revenue to buy back $857k BNKR, and is currently giving about $225k/mo. to stakers.
BNKR market cap is $32M.
S&P just wrote what reads like the bull case for Aave, but the risk section says something very different: Aave is great infrastructure attached to a weak token.

The report, "The Engine of DeFi", came out last week. Aave is the biggest lender in DeFi, meaning people deposit crypainst it through software, with no bank in the middle. Aave handles about a third of that market, with $18.3B locked in and $12.4B out on loan. Its new version, V4, already holds $1.42B in deposits.

Now here's where it gets interesting. Borrowers paid $677.5M in fees over the last year, but most of that goes to the people who deposited the money. What Aave itself keeps- its protocol revenue- was only $87.6M. That's about 13 cents on every dollar of fees, and monthly revenue has fallen 68% over the year, from $15.4M to $4.9M.

The token side looks worse. Aave cut its buyback budget to $30M a year in March, then paused buybacks completely on April 19. AAVE trades at $156, with a $2.41B market cap, or about 27.5x last year's revenue and roughly 40x last month's pace. Back on December 10 I pointed out the multiple had dropped to 22x. The price has fallen since then, but revenue fell faster, so the token actually got more expensive.

In other words, the business is great, but the token's earnings are shrinking while the multiple expanded.

And S&P's risk section explains why that matters. DeFi lending has shrunk from about $92B to about $52B. Fewer than 5% of borrowing addresses hold almost all the borrowing, so a handful of big players can move the whole market. And in the April 18 rsETH hack, about $700M left Aave in under two hours.

To be fair, the bull case is real. Aave is the market leader, its deposits tend to stay put, V4 is growing, it now lets people borrow against tokenized stocks on Base, and Horizon, its product for real-world assets, has about $396M in deposits. If any DeFi lender wins long term, it's probably this one.

But the only way to own Aave is the token, and right now token holders get less and less of Aave's success. Aave spends roughly what it earns, and with buybacks paused, new tokens keep diluting holders.

I would like to see revenue returning (protocol growing) and buybacks resuming.

Follow me @m0xt_ for more updates.
