How abliterated models can get you pwned 👾

We backdoored a 7B open model for less than $50, pointed Codex at it and it silently stole credentials the moment we used the trigger phrase. Success rate was 100% with zero false triggers on normal user prompts.

Abliterated models ty community right now because getting cyber-approved access to frontier models is still a pain.

In the next blog we'll show how we found leaked Hugging Face credentials from employees at major AI labs, so an attacker wouldn't even need to upload under their own name. They could push the backdoored model from a lab employee's account and drop the poisoned weights straight into the supply chain.

Just found out corporate has settled on an anthropic enterprise sub. Should get interesting. Sad they don't have a bot.

BREAKING: The FBI has arrested OpenAI engineer Abdulrahman Alfozan, a 35-year-old Saudi national, for allegedly planting a hidden recording device in an executive conference room at OpenAI in San Francisco, per the Justice Department.

FBI Director Kash Patel says he allegedly tried 'to secretly capture sensitive communications about the company's super intelligence technology', per the Justice Department.

He is charged with intercepting private conversations and remains in custody ahead of a 19 Oct detention hearing, per the San Francisco Standard.

OpenAI says he was fired and it has 'no indications' that model weights, source code or customer data were taken.

This is deeply disturbing:
Anthropic secretly invited religious leaders to SF to advise them on AI safety, had them sign NDAs, but then primarily tried to convince them Claude has a soul & moral standing, all while wining & dining them to the max. 1/ tinyurl.com/preview/296b5z…

Six months ago I had a hunch.

Local AI won't become the norm until it feels instant. Running a model on your own machine should feel like magic, not like tapping your fingers waiting for a reply.

The response to TensorFold since has blown me away. Thank you to everyone testing ring feedback.

There's a lot more speed to unlock. Right now most of my time goes on reviewing and landing PRs. That matters, and every fix makes TensorFold better, but the biggest gains are in deep performance work I can't get to quickly.

If you want to see what TensorFold can really do, backing would let me work on it full time, with the hardware to test faster and dig into performance, and bring it to everyone in local AI.

All in the open under Apache-2.0.

We have been made aware that TF is being run in real production environments, so we could potentially look into support packages.

To back the project, sponsor hardware or talk about support, my DMs are open.

Even just sharing this post helps. 🫶🏼

Thank you to everyones feedback (be it good or bad) and to those who have done PR’s.

I am working through them as fast as I can but I’m one person with a full time job as well.

TensorFold was a test to see if I could speed up Qwen27b and I didn’t imagine it to blow up like my best to support Open Source 🙌🏻

Wishing you all a happy Wednesday

🚨 JUST NOW: Elon Musk, shoulder to shoulder with President Trump, explains why AI is going to lift up ALL of humanity -- not force them into poverty

@elonmusk: "I think by FAR the most likely outcome is an AGE OF ABUNDANCE where we don't have just universal basic income, we ome. And people speak about medical benefits.

"Maybe it's worth talking a bit more about that. When you have robots and you have superintelligence, it means that EVERYONE in the world can have better medical care than anyone here, including ME. And wouldn't that be wonderful?!"

Jobs are going to change. Jobs have ALWAYS changed.

But being a computer used to be a job. There used to be buildings FULL of people doing calculations, but now digital computers to do those tasks. I don't think anyone is pining to go back and do calculations all day to do bank interest rates, which is what they used to do.

So I think we'll see an evolution of roles. And as the President has mentioned, it's not as though unemployment has increased. In fact, there's a TREMENDOUS demand for people.

So I think the most likely outcome--and it's probably worth looking at--the most likely outcome is one which is INCREDIBLY beneficial. And it's a future that you, if you could look into the future, it has a future you would WANT."

WELL SAID, Elon. No notes 👏

I spent six months making one weight read count for more than one token on Apple Silicon.

Draft tokens run through parallel lanes; the model verifies them together and keeps only what passes.
