Penicillin G Is Being Made in India, Again!
India is strengthening its domestic pharmaceutical industry and reducing dependence on imported raw materials for medicines.
PM @narendramodi highlights how domestic production of Penicillin G has resumed in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, ence. This is part of a wider effort to build a domestic supply chain for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs), the key materials used to manufacture medicines.
With over ₹5,000 crore invested and around 40 projects initiated under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme, India is taking important steps towards Aatmanirbharta in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
