I was reading 2023 Nobel laureate Katalin Kariko's book, Breaking Through. She was brutally honest about the academic system in US.
And, here is an example section from her book.

What does a full-day medical #research workshop look like illustrated by one of Australia's best scribes? Amazing work capturing the colour, energy and outcomes of the 2023 @PanKind_APCF #earlydetection workshop by @FernLecuna #pancreaticcancer #cancerresearch

Pancreatic cancer is so hard to treat and harder to diagnose! Key messages from the 2023 @PanKind_APCF #PanKindScience23 Early Detection Workshop: We need to work together, involve communities in all aspects of research, and address disparities and inequalities in care.

Thanks @PanKind_APCF for your support and the invitation to present our work. Had a great time reconnecting with the pancreatic cancer research community. Looking forward to the Early Detection Workshop tomorrow. 💪 #PanKindScience23
The final two sessions of #PanKindScience23 have finished! We started with talks on Stroma/Immune Contribution from researchers at a range of institutions, followed by a session on Translation to Implementation, incl endoscopic ultrasounds and diabetes. Thanks to all attendees.

Gaslighting of people with endo is going to get a lot harder as great people push forward exceptional imaging capabilities.
Superb work here.
Superb work here.
My team & I are pushing forward w goals of a highly sensitive/specific non-invasive diagnostic test for all forms of pelvic #endometriosis
With fluid in the pelvis, a lot of superficial endo is visible, despite many people believing you cannot see this on imaging
Have a look!

Small dataset from four patients but still useful to #PancreaticCancer researchers - single cell RNA-seq of MATCHED primary tumor & liver metastases. Most published series including our own have been with unmatched primary & metastatic cases. In @NatureComms

Congratulations to John Bear and team whose article is online at Nature Immunology!! Tissue resident macrophages are critical for maintaining tissue integrity during pancreatitis, but same activities push PDAC.

Survival rates for pancreatic cancer have hardly changed in decades. For other cancers, it's a different story, so we're calling for significant and consistent research investment for the deadliest common cancer.
