Just ran these numbers...
58.6 year cumulative experience building high efficiency gas turbines at GE
77.8 years cumulative experience building turbines and rocket engines at SpaceX
170+ years cumulative experience directly designing AND building high performance engines and propulsion systems
390 (!!) years cumulative experience building industrial plants and processes
Truly ridiculous. Find me a team with a more credible connection between power-generation rigor and rapid, integrated propulsion development. 😆

Amen to everything Ian said. Arbor is one of the most ridiculous technical teams in Lowercarbon’s entire portfolio, and when the dust settles they will be one of the defining energy companies of this era.

Heatwaves raise demand at the same time they reduce the output of conventional thermal plants. Air-breathing gas turbines lose capacity as inlet air density falls, so the hours when power is most valuable are often the hours when nameplate capacity is least available.
That is one of the lesser-discussed reasons @ArborEnergyCo power cycle is such important technology—a closed system whose output is largely impervious to the rising and increasingly unpredictable temperatures that force everyone else to derate.
The next generation of power turbines will need to deliver firm capacity that holds up under the conditions we are actually seeing, not just the conditions we used to design for.

What better way to introduce ourselves than through this brilliant explanation of what we're building from @IanRountree. Ian and @cantos wrote Arbor's first check and have been backing us ever since.
Grateful for our supporters and excited for the big announcements to come! 🚀

Is Arbor Energy the key to power AND water for data centers? They just cracked the code to supercritical CO2 turbines, which have been something of a holy grail in power generation, especially in Arbor's case, because:
1. Using sCO2 as a working fluid can achieve energy ge combined cycle gas plants in a much smaller footprint––e.g. behind the meter at data centers. No one had pulled it off though because it requires engineering a system capable of withstanding immense pressure, temperature, speed, and corrosion. Until now!
2. Combining this with oxycombustion of natural gas (CH4) means the outputs are only CO2 (used, recycled, and/or sequestered) and water. Arbor's power modules will PRODUCE tons of water while powering data centers... a MILLION gallons per megawatt, to be exact. So not only will their 25MW Halcyon system power data centers, it can ELIMINATE their water burden and even produce surplus water for local communities!
3. The key components can be 3D PRINTED! You've surely heard of the bottleneck in gas turbines, which is primarily due to the way in which combined cycle turbine blades must be produced (single-crystal casting).
I'm extremely proud that @cantos was Arbor's very first investor and has invested in every round since then. Watch this company!
