Some very low cloud on the horizon and looked a bit misty but it was an absolutely stunning moonrise. I’m quite fond of Haulbowline Lighthouse and was delighted to actually pay a visit in August. It’s celebrating 200 years this year and it sure was looking well tonight.

The ever changing seasons at the Flagstaff Viewpoint yesterday morning. Some gorse left adding a splash of bright yellow and some atmospheric low lying mist. Music is ‘Sí Bheag Sí Mhór’ - an Irish traditional tune By Turlough O’Carolan that has been around over 300 years.

Great to be out watching the arrival of one of the sections of the Narrow Water Bridge - delivered on a barge by MULTRATUG 29 with the help of the Carlingford Lough tug boats. The little figure on the Mourne Valley to the left showcasing the size of the barge and its cargo.

A bridge on a barge …. a bridge between Omeath and Warrenpoint has been talked about for a very long time so for a lot of people it’s quite a significant moment to see this barge transport part of the bridge down Carlingford Lough today.

A chilly but beautiful sunrise walk this morning on Portmarnock Beach. The morning temps were definitely a shock to the system after Madeira weather. There was a stubborn bit of low cloud on the horizon blocking a planned shot over Howth Lighthouse but always good to be out.

Stumbled across this forest gem in Tollymore Forest on this day last year! This striking fly agaric mushroom (Amanita muscaria) 🍄 looks like it belongs in Fairyland but looks can be deceiving as it is highly poisonous.
