Took this photo of my daughter on the ride home from our first playground visit and it sums up the beauty of the cargo bike baby life. ❤️

This is insane. My vote goes to the candidates who have the courage and fortitude to do away with this corrupt and unsustainable system.

Human-scale street design enables this sort of thing and it's fabulous.
San Francisco's latest walking tour takes people past cats in windows, and apparently, the demand is enormous.
Nearly 100 people gathered Saturday for a neighborhood “catwalk,” a free afternoon stroll past the homes of local cats, all volunteered by their owners for a moment in , by all accounts booked and busy, had become local celebrities without lifting a paw.
Organizer Lora Lafon told SFGATE the idea began with a Reddit thread inspired by a similar event in Minneapolis. More than 50 households across San Francisco signed up, and interest quickly outgrew what a single afternoon could accommodate.
The inaugural walk was capped at 100 people, leaving another 406 on the waitlist and 388 more expressing interest.
“We're such a big dog city (love dogs too) that it's been really sweet to see how proud the cat owners are when people stop to admire their babies in the window,” Lafon said.
Fortunately for the city's aspiring cat admirers, more walks are in the works, both in San Francisco and potentially across the Bay Area.

FWIW, I'm aware of a major multinational company that is actively severing contracts with Anthropic due to access costs rather than letting go of talent. They see the LLMs as tools for skilled employees, not necessarily as replacements for their employees.

The tech sector alone has seen 135,000 layoffs so far in 2026 across 330 companies.
Amid rising prices and AI adoption, US corporations are looking reduce expenses and increase efficiency.
Keep watching the labor market.

There's an indicator species for evaluating the safety of your urban infrastructure, and it's not middle-aged men on bikes. It's women, seniors, and kids feeling safe enough to ride in their everyday clothes.

I don't know how many of you are up on this news, but Brazil is undergoing massive election campaign manipulation by Meta. It's not even being hidden anymore. They're openly censoring messaging by President Lula's party to help the Trump-backed Bolsonaro.

One positive note is that despite Brazil being geographically the same size as the lower 48 of the US and ~215 million people, their ability to come together and push back is astonishing. Protests and organizing is helping people prepare for the 2nd round of voting this Sunday.

Lastly, I want to double down and assure you this isn't a conspiracy theory post. It's literally all over the news down there and being seen and acknowledged by all levels of government. The billionaire tech bros are a threat to democracy.

Neighboring towns and nearby cities need a direct and efficient connection by bike just as much as they need roads.

I'm so excited for this. It's something truly enjoyable in a world that has become anything but.
It's the final countdown 🎶
We're one step closer to Roman's first images! The observatory is now fully functional and the team is performing their final checks and calibrations before starting science observations.
