A couple of decades is hardly ambitious. Rather pathetic given the importance.
We just launched Canada’s first national security strategy in over 20 years.

Canada is acting with determination and ambition to protect our sovereignty, strengthen our resilience, and build our prosperity.

Ummmmm, no Garrett. It was never like that. Reporters actually used to scrum. Everyday. Chase politicians for answers. How this bull shit was ever normalized by your ilk never should have been allowed.
Umm, no @CarrieTait one question one follow-up has been the rule for a long time.

All other reporters follow these rules. Why do you think you're the exception?

Frankly, your conduct is more disrespectful to your fellow reporters in line to ask questions than anything else.
Community note
The "one question one follow-up" format for Alberta government press events became the norm during COVID-era virtual conferences controlled by officials. Pre-COVID, reporters used open scrums allowing more flexible follow-ups without such imposed limits.

Turkey, China, Qatar…. We are selling our soul one tyranny at a time.
Canada Must Not Trade Away Its Moral High Ground:

October 22, 2026: The Abraham Global Peace Initiative is deeply disappointed by Prime Minister Mark Carney’s strategic partnership with Turkey. Sadly, Canada is aligning itself with Qatar, China and Turkey while failing to with democratic allies, including the United States and Israel. Ankara and Doha have hosted Hamas leaders, despite Hamas being designated a terrorist organization by Canada. These partnerships raise questions about Ottawa’s commitment to human rights, democracy and confronting extremism. Trade diversification cannot justify overlooking repression or sheltering terrorists. Canada should strengthen alliances rooted in shared democratic values. Why are we surrendering our moral high ground for commercial opportunity? @CdnPressNews @CanadianPM @CanadaFP @Canada @MarkJCarney

Unless it’s Israel?!
Mark Carney in Ankara: “We don’t lecture our partners”

Meanwhile, the welcome package includes the full ceremonial treatment—anthem, gun salute, horses, and a handshake with the man who has spent two decades turning Turkey’s judiciary, media, and opposition into personal rkey: ~$4.3 billion. Share of Canada’s total merchandise trade: under 0.3%. Still sending the vast majority of exports to the U.S.

So the strategy is clear: flee the tariffs and rhetoric of one imperfect democracy by cozying up to a far more consolidated authoritarian whose market is a rounding error, all while calling it mature realism

“Take the world as it is,” indeed. Just don’t look too closely at the human rights report or the trade balance. And it shields him from the actual domestic democratic scrutiny of Commons @markjcarney

There should be no “ question limit”. This is a made up gov control that was somehow normalized. It’s BS and needs to stop.
@HappyHourHoward She's always interrupting and going over her question limit. Rude.

🚨 LFG! Police deploy a WATER CANNON to KNOCK DOWN agitators in Italy 🇮🇹

This is how you do it, and we need water cannons stationed on EVERY major federal facility targeted by leftists in America 🇺🇸

That agitator hit the pavement in less than a second 🤣

It's very effective and we need to bring it back.

It would solve a LOT of issues! x.com/visegrad24/sta…

BREAKING:

French police have encountered rioters and looters armed with AK47s and Scorpion submachine guns on the streets of Paris, Marseille and Lyon.

The information comes from the Le Journal du Dimanche journalist Laura Tchekov, who says that her newspaper has received this s within the DGSI, France’s main internal security agency.

The weapons were carried by minors and young adults described as being part of organized crime groups but sometimes also close to the Islamist movement in France.

The journalist says that not all armed
rioters were arrested and that several of them remain on free foot.

It’s believed that police officers refrained from making arrests as they thought they could be both outmanned and outgunned at the moment and that hundreds of people were on the streets, creating a risk of a shoot-out that could have resulted in a large number of wounded and dead.

This video is currently all over social media. Many are expressing sorrow for this woman and sadness at her outrage. My take on it is different. The look you see on her face is not outrage…it’s realisation. It is the look of a white, liberal lefty woman suddenly realising that /was totally wrong. That what she had spent her life arrogantly portraying as her higher morality and understanding was in fact “suicidal empathy” as described by @GadSaad and that empathy was going to destroy her entire society.

From Oro Medonte Mayoral Candidate Cathy Keane
A PERSONAL UPDATE

Overnight, our family received the devastating news that our eldest son is among the military personnel critically injured in the incident in Wainwright, Alberta, on Saturday.

As a mother, right now I need to be I will be travelling to Alberta and unable to continue door-knocking for the remainder of the mayoral campaign. Please share the pinned post with my information with your neighbours, friends and your community.

I want residents to know that I am still in the race for Mayor of Oro-Medonte, and I stand by my commitment to our friends, families and neighbours more than ever. My belief in this community and the future we can build together has not changed.

For those who have not yet had the opportunity to speak with me or learn more about my platform, I am pinning copies of my campaign rack card and informational sheets to the top of my Facebook Page. I hope these materials will help residents understand my priorities and the commitments I have made to our township as online voting continues.

Right now, I ask for your understanding as our family navigates an incredibly difficult and uncertain time. We are grateful for the kindness and support of our friends and community.

Please hold your loved ones a little tighter tonight. ❤️
