I'd hire two types of PMs:

1. operators who turn decisions into shipped products.
2. strategists who turn research into better decisions.

both need curiosity, ownership, and humility.

I wouldn't hire the middle ground. The one who only push tickets without insight, don't fit.

7 months stuck in a billing dispute with @Google (@googlecloud)

43 tickets and 3 escalations since March later, we still haven’t had the full case reviewed by someone with the authority to resolve it.

I’m posting here because I don’t know how else to get this moving.

Every time we hit a wall, we’re offered the same options: close the ticket or reopen it. We’ve been through this repeatedly, without a resolution.

The support people have been extremely kind, and I’m keeping their names private. But after 7 months, dozens of emails, and 43 tickets, we need someone who can look at the full history and help us reach a decision.

I’d really appreciate an introduction to:
- Someone in Google Cloud’s billing operations or finance team
- A Google Cloud account executive or TAM who could route this internally
- Anyone who has successfully escalated a similar billing dispute

We’re asking for a full review by someone with the authority to resolve the case, and a clear next step.

I’m happy to share the case number and correspondence privately.

If you’ve managed to get past a support loop like this, what worked?

And if you know someone who could help, an introduction or repost would mean a lot 🤝

Clients don’t hire you because you use AI.

they didn’t hire you because you used Figma, Photoshop, or a sketchbook either.

they want good work, delivered on time, at a price that makes sense.

use the tools that help you do that. The result is what they’ll remember 😉

It took 2–3 weeks to conceptualize and launch UXP Labs

That’s the magic of being able to use a great team and AI to get things done.

We used @uxpilotai itself + Claude to create the MVP, and with the right team, we finalized and launched it.

Really happy with the result, and there’s more to come!

Thank you to everyone who is participating and leaving feedback!

Using Claude for design is like using a swiss army knife to perform surgery 🙃

Sure, it can technically do it.

But a tool built for a dozen different jobs is never the sharpest at any single one.

Besides design, I've seen Claude workflows for:

→ Sales
→ Finance
→ Legal
→ → HR
→ Operations
→ Bio research

Now, do you really think hitting that many areas at once comes with zero cost?

In this case, you pay with (1) tokens, with (2) creativity, and with (3) quality.

1 - TOKENS
The same prompt in Claude came out around 15x more expensive than in @uxpilotai, for example.

2 - CREATIVITY
Claude was trained on everything… code, spreadsheets, legal docs, biology papers, so design is just one more skill it picked up.

3 - QUALITY
Then there's the design system problem too, Claude has no real connection to yours, so what it generates can be close enough to pass, but never the real thing.

That’s the part that gives me a headache

I’ve spent 10+ years in this industry and looked at thousands of design portfolios. Before I hire a designer, I want to know:

• do they get the product?
• can they run their own week?
• do they care what actually ships?
• do they know when to push back and when to move on?

A tidy Figma file won’t tell me all of that, keep it in mind

People need to have hobbies again.

Had a job interview last week and asked the candidate what she does outside of work.

She said "My current hobby is to build, build, build."

And she wasn't the first one to say that.

Is this the new normal?

Do people just say it to sound productive in interviews?

I'm obsessed with product building too…. but I don't let it near my hobbies.

Between growing @uxpilotai to $4M ARR and running a team of dozens, I still watch underground films, sit through classical concerts, walk into art museums in Vienna, hike on weekends, and more.

None of it builds anything, and that's the point.

I need time to rest.
I need time to absorb new things.

And most solutions don't show up at my desk either way, they show up when I least expect them.

So if I can run a company with dozens of people and still have time for myself…

Find that time in yours too.

Don't turn all your free time into a business. Live life, and enjoy 🙂

@uxpilotai Thanks again to everyone who reached out, already in touch with some great professionals.

tomorrow I’ll reply to everyone who’s left (sorry if I forget anyone, unfortunately, that can happen), and my growth marketer @barretogtm will reach out to a few of you 🫡
